POKEMON MYSTERY DUNGEON 4TH GENERATION POKEMON GUIDE

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon features all 386 Pokemon, which includes all Pokemon up to and including those in RSE. It is also possible for one to recruit all 386 of them.

However, several fourth generation Pokemon (ie Pokemon from Pearl/Diamond) do make cameo appearances in the game, and one of which can be encountered directly. This short guide will cover the references made in the game to these fourth generation Pokemon.

4th Gen Pokemon Reward Statues

Bonsly

Does not appear in the game directly, but you can obtain a statue of it by completing all 17 type-based mazes in the Makuhita Dojo.

Weavile

Like Bonsly, Weavile is not mentioned in the game at all, but you can obtain a statue of it to be placed outside your Rescue Base. To obtain the statue, you have to complete a mission rated S or * with the statue as the reward.

Mime Jr.

Also like Bonsly, Mime Jr. is not mentioned in the game, but a statue of it can be obtained. To obtain the statue, you have to complete a mission rated S or * with the statue as the reward.

The Legendary Lucario

Lucario

Several references to Lucario are made in the game. He is spoken of as the greatest and most outstanding Rescue Team Leader of all, such that even Alakazam speaks of him in awe.

Unfortunately, you have no chance to meet this Legendary Rescue Leader. However, you can obtain a statue of it if your rescuing exploits merit 15000 Rescue Points.

Munchlax

Munchlax

Munchlax is the only fourth generation Pokemon to actually appear in the game as a character, and encountering it is also the most elusive event out of the events featuring fourth generation Pokemon.

To encounter it, you must first hold an Apple in your Toolbox. Whenever you fulfill this requirement, there is a chance than Munchlax will appear in the Town Square. It will appear from the right of the area, walking past Wigglytuff's shop and Persian's bank, and all the way past the Kecleon shops before disappearing from Town Square. You can talk to it, and after a short conversation you will find out that it's hungry.

It will ask for some food, and you should simply give it an Apply by selecting it from your Toolbox. Munchlax will munch on it happily.

Thereafter, Munchlax will thank you, and, in return, give you a Munchbelt before continuing on its way, out of Town Square.

The Munchbelt is an item which raises Attack and Special Attack, but causes your Belly to lower more quickly.

There are rumours that you can recruit Munchlax, and it seems that it might be possible to do so with the aid of cheating devices. However, it is generally accepted that Munchlax is not recruitable.
