Pokemon Stadium 2 is a game that was released for the Nintendo 64 as a sequel to Pokemon Stadium. It wasn't so much another Pokemon game as it was an expansion of the Game Boy games.

First and foremost, it was 3D. Instead of being a full game, it was just the meat of the game, battling. Using the Transfer Pak, you were able to use Pokemon from your Game Boy cartridges on your Nintendo 64 and fight in any match. If you don't have a Pokemon cartridge, you can rent Pokemon to use in the events (although if you use your own Pokemon, you can specialize, plus rentals aren't exactly the most well thought out in terms of moves). There are several tournament cups of ranging difficulty and rules, including level and Pokemon restrictions. There is also the Gym Leader Castle, where you can fight all 8 Gym leaders, the Elite 4, and the Champion, your rival. You could also Free Battle with your friends.

If you're not ready for those fights, you could head on over to the Game Boy Tower, where you could play your Pokemon Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver, or Crystal Cartridge on the big screen. Or, you could play the minigames. If you're struggling, Earl's Training School might steer you right. Also, Oak's Lab has everything you need in terms of organization and trading of your Pokemon.
