POKEMON DIAMOND, PEARL AND PLATINUM NINTENDO EVENTS
Every so often, Nintendo will announce an event where they will make a special item available for download for a limited time. You will need to enable Mystery Gift in your game by visiting the producer on the third floor of the Jubilife TV Station and telling him "Everyone Happy" and "Wi-Fi Connection". Upon restarting your game, the main menu will now have a Mystery Gift option that you can use to download the event item.
 
After selecting Mystery Gift in the main menu, you can choose how to receive your item, and it will be downloaded to your game, and your game will be saved. Start your game again and visit a PokeMart, where an attendant in green will give you your gift.
 
Toys "R" Us Regigigas
The Toys "R" Us Regigigas event ran from March 8th 2009 to March 21st 2009. While Diamond and Pearl do nothing special with this event Regigigas, Platinum players will find that three locations around Sinnoh will be unlocked with the chance to capture Regirock, Regice and Registeel at level 30.
 
Collect your event Regigigas from the man in the PokeMart and leave it in your party. You can visit any of the three locations in any order, but Regirock will be covered first. Make your way to the Resort Area and up through Route 228. In the middle of the route, you'll be able to spot a cave opening. Normally you'll find a Hard Stone here, but when you enter with the event Regigigas, there will be seven dots on the floor. Stand on each dot once and examine the statue, and a level 30 Regirock will attack.
 
Regice can be found near the Mt. Coronet exit to Route 216. Either go from Snowpoint City or Eterna City/Celestic Town, and make your way to the Iceberg Ruins in Mt. Coronet. Again, without Regigigas there will be a NeverMeltIce there, but with your event Pokemon, you'll see seven dots on the floor. Stand on each one once and examine the statue to fight a level 30 Regice.
 
Finally, Registeel can be found near the exit of Iron Island. Make your way through all the trainers and past the elevators where you fought the Galactic Grunts with Riley. Near the exit to the ferry, you'll see the entrance to the Iron Ruins. Normally you can grab a Metal Coat, but with Regigigas, you can stand on each of the seven dots once, then talk to the statue to fight a level 30 Registeel.
Secret Key (Platinum Only)
The Secret Key Wi-Fi event ran from June 8th 2009 to July 19th 2009. The Secret Key can be used to access a hidden area to transform Rotom into one of its five formes. If you haven't already capture Rotom, do so by visiting the Old Chateau in Eterna Forest at nighttime, then examining the television on the second floor. You'll be attacked by a level 20 Rotom.
 
After Mystery Gifting receiving the Secret Key from the PokeMart, head to the Team Galactic Eterna Building in Eterna City and examine the wall in the top left corner of the ground floor room. The screen will whiteout, and a door will open to a new area. You can do this after defeating Galactic Commander Jupiter at the Galactic HQ in Veilstone City.
 
This room is Charon's secret hideout, and contains five electronic appliances that Rotom can use to transform into one of its five formes: the microwave oven gives the Heat Forme, the rotary fan gives the Fan Forme, the refrigerator gives the Frost Forme, the washing machine gives the Wash Forme, and finally the lawn mower gives the Mow Forme. You can also read the diary on the desk nearby for more insight into how Rotom behaves in its new formes.
 
Member Card
The Member Card Wi-Fi event ran from August 3rd 2009 to September 13th 2009 for Platinum players only. Upon receiving the Member Card from the PokeMart, head to Canalave City. If you haven't obtained the Lunar Wing from Cresselia, you can do so by first talking to the little boy in Sailor Eldritch's House, then hopping on the ferry to Full Moon Island.
 
Once on Full Moon Island, head into the forest and you'll spot Cresselia. Talk to it and it will fly away to roam the routes of Sinnoh. You can track its location by checking your Poketch's application and catch it in your own time, but for now, take the Lunar Wing it leaves behind and head back to Canalave City. Speak with the boy and he'll wake up from his nightmare.
 
Head to the Harbor Inn behind the Pokemon Center and you'll find that the previously locked door is now open. Go inside and you'll lie down on the bed, only to fall asleep and wake up on the ominous New Moon Island. Enter the forest and you'll encounter Darkrai at level 50, with Hypnosis, Faint Attack (Platinum), Pursuit (Diamond and Pearl), Nightmare and Double Team.
 
Oak's Letter
The Oak's Letter Wi-Fi event ran from September 28th 2009 to November 8th 2009 for Platinum players only. After receiving Oak's Letter, head to the north end of Route 224 where you'll find Professor Oak standing by some rock. Marley will briefly introduce Shaymin and the Stone Tablet. When she finishes, go and talk to Professor Oak and he'll talk more about the Stone Tablet. When you are given the prompt, type anything into the input field and Shaymin will open the pathway to Flower Paradise.
 
Follow Shaymin over Seabreak Path until you reach the Flower Paradise. There you'll find a lv30 Shaymin, with Growth (Platinum), Defense Curl (Diamond and Pearl), Magical Leaf, Leech Seed and Synthesis. After catching it, head to Floaroma Town and talk to the lady to the northwest of the Pokemon Center. She'll give you the key item Gracidea, which can be used to transform Shaymin into its Sky Forme. Shaymin will revert from its Sky Forme when it is night, or when it becomes frozen.
 
Azure Flute
There is currently no Azure Flute event announced, but with the Arceus movie on its way, we can be sure Nintendo will offer the chance to catch Arceus soon. When you receive the Azure Flute, make your way to Spear Pillar where you will be offered the chance to play it. After doing this, a stairway will appear that takes you to an area above Spear Pillar where a level 80 Arceus will be waiting. As soon as you step off the stairs, you'll lose control of your character so make sure you save your game before then.
