POKEMON PLATINUM LEGENDARIES
| #487 - Giratina |
 |
The battle against Giratina in the Distortion World is a matter of plot advancement. You must either catch or defeat it to continue through the game; catch it then and it's yours. |
| #480 - Uxie, #481 - Mesprit and #482 - Azelf |
 |
After you finish the Distortion World quest, you can speak to Professor Rowan. Once you've done that, Sinnoh's Legendary Trio will be available at their respective lakes again; Uxie at Acuity, Azlef at Valor, and Mesprit at Verity.
Note that Mesprit will begin to wander around Sinnoh once you approach it, so you'll have to get lucky and track it down. However, you only need to see it at the Lake to get it added to your dex; you don't need to encounter it in the wild. All three of them are at level 50. |
| #377 - Regirock, #378 - Regice and #379 - Registeel |
 |
In order to obtain any of the Regi Trio in Platinum, you must have one of the Event Regigigas (see below). For each of them, once you enter their lair, you must walk over the dots on the ground in a connect-the-dots fashion. Once you hit them all, the room shakes to signal you've done it. Proceed to the statue in the room and press A to begin the battle. All three are at Level 30.
Regirock is in a cave on Route 228. Regice is in the Route 216 exit of Mt. Coronet. Registeel is in the third level on Iron Island. |
| #483 - Dialga and #484 - Palkia |
 |
You'll need the Adamant and Lustrous Orbs from Mt. Coronet. Next, speak to the man in the large house in Celestic Town. Journey to the top of the Spear Pillar and you will find a blue portal to Dialga. After the battle, exit the area and return to find the pink portal to Palkia. Both are level 70. |
After Obtaining the National Dex
| #144 - Articuno, #145 - Zapdos and #146 - Moltres |
 |
Once you have talked to Professor Oak in the Pal Park and he has left, visit him again in Eterna City to receive the Up-Grade. Kanto's Legendary Birds will now wander the land. You can encounter them by luck or attempt to track them strategically. |
| #485 - Heatran |
 |
After your first run through Stark Mountain and Team Galactic leaves, head to the Survival Area and speak to Buck again. From there, you must talk to him again in the Trainer Cafe. Now you can return to Stark Mountain and begin the Level 50 battle. |
| #488 - Cresselia |
 |
Just like in Diamond and Pearl, go to Canalave City and to the house of the Sailor that will take you to Iron Island (next to the boat). Inside, his son is trapped in a nightmare. Talk to the people and find out that you need the Lunar Wing, which can be obtained on Fullmoon Island. Talk to the Sailor and sail to the island. Go through the path, and you'll see Cresselia. It will fly off and leave the Lunar Wing you need. After that, you can find Cresselia in random routes, just like Mesprit. Once you return to Canalave, don't forget to heal the boy.
One way to make catching Cresselia (like Mesprit) easier, is to find where one Route ends and another begins. As you switch between routes, check the marking map until you are on the same route. Once again, however, putting the Pokemon to sleep will not prevent it from fleeing the battle, so act quickly. |
Event Pokemon
Some Pokemon must be obtained via special Nintendo Wi-Fi Events. You can find a breakdown of those events on that page. Below are Pokemon from in-store and WFC events.
| #486 - Regigigas |
 |
The Event Regigigas was available via a Toys-R-Us Event in the US during March 2009. This is the Regigigas needed to release the other three Regis.
It should be noted that you can also obtain a Regigigas in game, but that will not activate the other three. If you transfer the other three Regis into your party (or catch them), you can find a Regigigas at the bottom of Snowpoint Temple again. It will be level 1, allowing you to fully customize its training. |
| #490 - Manaphy and #489 - Phione |
 |
To obtain Manaphy, you need a second DS and a Pokemon Ranger game. Trade the Egg over wirelessly and go to a PokeMart to receive it. After that, simply hatch the Egg. This can be transferred without the National Dex, and for details on getting it in Ranger, check out the Ranger page for it.
After you get Manaphy, you can breed it with a Ditto to get a Phione. There's nothing special about getting it, and its stats are equal to Glalie's, the Pokemon that defined mediocrity in RSE. |
| #491 - Darkrai |
 |
In the early fall of 2009, a Nintendo WFC Event was held to obtain the Member Card and capture Darkrai. In the process, you will encounter Cresselia and help a young boy who has been suffering from nightmares. Detailed information is available on the Events Page. |
| #492 - Shaymin |
 |
In the late fall of 2009, a Nintendo WFC Event was held to obtain Oak's Letter to capture Shaymin. The player is able to journey to the Flower Paradise to capture the Pokemon. Detailed information may be found on the Events Page.
If you have one of the Event Shaymin or capture the one in the Flower Paradise (which requires Oak's Letter), you are able to obtain the Gracidea Flower to transform it into Sky Forme. The transformation is only active during the day and doesn't work over WiFi. Talk to the woman near the entrance of Floaroma Town to receive the flower. |
