POKEMON
- Which Pokemon are Red exclusive?
Ekans, Arbok, Oddish, Gloom, Vileplume, Mankey, Primeape, Growlithe, Arcanine, Scyther, Electabuzz
- Which Pokemon are Blue exclusive? Sandshrew, Sandslash, Meowth, Persian, Bellsprout, Weepinbell, Victreebel, Vulpix, Ninetales, Pinsir, Magmar
- Which Pokemon are not available in Yellow, without trading from other versions? Meowth, Persian, Magmar, Ekans, Arbok, Electabuzz, Weedle, Kakuna, Beedrill, Koffing, Weezing, Jynx.
- What Pokemon do I get from the fossils? You get Omanyte from the Helix Fossil, Kabuto from the Dome Fossil, and Aerodactyl from the Old Amber.
- What Pokemon can I get at the Game Corner?
(Red) Abra - 180, Clefairy - 500, Nidorina - 1200, Dratini - 2800, Scyther - 5500, Porygon - 9999.
(Blue) Abra - 120, Clefairy - 750, Nidorino - 1200, Pinsir - 2500, Dratini - 4600, Porygon - 6500.
(Yellow) Abra - 230, Vulpix - 1000, Wigglytuff - 2680, Scyther - 6500, Pinsir - 6500, Porygon - 9999.
- Where are Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres? Articuno is on the bottom level of Seafoam Islands - you need to solve a puzzle to get to it. See the Walkthrough for more information.
Zapdos is in the Power Plant, found by heading east of Cerulean City to Rock Tunnel, but using Surf on the narrow strip of water there. See the Walkthrough for more information.

- (Yellow) Where do I get Bulbasaur? Talk to the lady in the house next to the Cerulean City PokeCenter. If your Pikachu is happy, she'll give you Bulbasaur.
- (Yellow) Where do I get Charmander? Talk to the trainer directly north of Nugget Bridge, and he'll give you Charmander.
- (Yellow) Where do I get Squirtle? Talk to the officer in Vermilion City once you've earned the Thunder Badge.
- (Yellow) How do I get a Raichu? Pikachu refuses to evolve with the Thunder Stone. You'll need to trade with a friend.
ITEMS
- Where are the Moon Stones? There are five Moon Stones in the game:
1. Mt Moon - by the Hiker guarding the ladder on the first level.
2. Mt Moon - hidden near the Super Nerd guarding the fossils.
3. Route 2 - South of the exit to Diglett's Cave.
4. Celadon City - Team Rocket's Headquarters.
5. Cinnabar Mansion - Sixth pillar on the right, when you enter.
- How do I get TM31 - Mimic? Buy a Pokedoll from the Celadon MegaMart, and bring it to the Copy Cat in Saffron City. She'll exchange it for TM31 - Mimic.
- How do I get TM13 - Ice Beam, TM48 - Rock Slide and TM49 - Tri-Attack? Buy one Fresh Water, one Soda Pop and one Lemonade from the Celadon MegaMart roof. Talk to the girl walking around and she'll give you a TM for each kind of drink you give her.
- What items can I get at the Game Corner? TM23 (Dragon Rage) - 3300, TM15 (Hyper Beam) - 5500, TM50 (Substitute) - 7700
MISCELLANEOUS
- How do I get past the guards in Saffron City? Go to the roof of the Celadon MegaMart and buy a drink (Any drink will suffice). Offer it to the guards, and they'll let you pass.
- How do I get to Sabrina? Her gym is really confusing! Here's the fastest route: from the entrance, step on the warp tile, then the one to the left, then below, then left and left again.
- What's the Daycare Center all about? There's a Daycare Center south of Cerulean City, and north of Saffron City. If you decide to leave your Pokemon with them, your Pokemon will gain one EXP point for every step you take. You'll pay a starting fee of $100, plus an extra $100 for each level your Pokemon grows.
- Is it true you can get Mew in the game? Yes it is. See the Mew Guide
- (Yellow) What's that house south of Fuchsia City there for? If you have a Pikachu that knows Surf (From Pokemon Stadium, or by Gameshark), you can play a mini-game where you control Pikachu surfing on the Route 19 Waves.
