I enjoy these threads. And
this is an excelent, really helpful tool to use here.
Beware of tl;dr!
Bug:
I'm not the biggest Bug-type lover, but Scyther has been one of my overall top favorite Pokemon for, uhm... ever. I also feel like I should mention Beautifly as well, for being adorable, Venomoth for design and color (both normal and shiny, which are my favorite colors and seem to fit the Pokemon very well), and Ariados and Scizor pretty much for looking awesome.
Dark:
This was a tough choice, because there are so many Dark Pokemon I like. However, none of them has the coolest hairstyle. Absol, Poochyena/Mightyena, Umbreon and Houndoom deserve to be mentioned because they're all dog-like Pokemon, and dogs pretty much rule.
Dragon:
My number one favorite Pokemon! Strong, adorable and a real enjoyable company, I assume. Flygon/Vibrava and Latios also get points for cuteness, and Kingdra and Gabite for coolness. Giratina is ugly as hell, but it's the scary that makes it great.
Electric:
Lions, dude. Lions. I love Jolteon's and Zapdos's spiky hairdo, though, and Raikou is awesome for being a Foo Dog. Ah, yes, Raichu and Flaffy/Ampharos: you can't deny the roundness is and important cute-factor.
Fighting:
I don't like Fighting types, but Riolu is so adorable... Lucario is a cool Pokemon and all, but he can't top his pre-evo. Breloom is also adorable and everything, but I relate it more to Grass, and Combusken/Blaziken used to score very high in my favorites, but I think more of them as Fire-types, like Infernape. I don't like frogs, I kind of like Toxicroak. And Medicham is just great for reminding me of Buddhism.
Fire:
Another difficult choice, because I don't have a favorite Fire-type; I just love almost every single Fire Pokemon. I'm still uncertain about my choice, but I guess I'll leave Arcanine as my "favorite" because of its Japanese culture background.
Flying:
Tough choice due to the massive amount of Flying types, but I have to say Lugia, simply for its design and overall awesomeness. I do have to say I really like Swellow for design and cry, Pidgeot is a nice Pokemon overall, and Xatu is great for being a totem bird.
Ghost:
I just love Banette's scary zipper-grin, and the fact it's a haunted doll or something; if you think about it, it
is nightmare material. Mismagius wears a cool hat and Sableye is one scary little fella, so they both deserve mentioning
Grass:
This spot used to be taken by Shaymin, but I think Breloom deserves it more than he does. I look at Sky Shaymin now, and it doesn't look as cool as it used to, I don't know why. Sceptile, Cacturne and Leafeon also lurk around my Grass favorites, even though I still think Leafeon is an unecessary addition to the Eevee family.
Ground:
I have a very neutral opinion towards Ground types. I don't like them, but I don't hate them. And since they all look very uninteresting and plain to me, I'll go with Vibrava for being one of the few who stands out, followed by Steelix and Gliscor.
Ice:
Few Ice types appeal to me, even though I like the general idea of the Type. Articuno is beautiful, so he gets the spot. I have to mention Sneasel because I think it looks kinda funny, and Glaceon has to be mentioned for reminding me of a Saint Seiya character.
Normal:
Same problem with Flying-types, but Arceus gets first place for having an awesome voice-casting (both Japanese and English). Zigzagoon is next for cuteness and useful ability. Linoone comes close behind, followed by Zangoose, Lopunny, Rattata and Teddiursa.
Poison:
I don't like Poison types, but Skuntank, Arbok and Venomoth are some real cool cats. I just love Skuntank's fluffy tail, so there.
Psychic:
My Psychic favorite changes a lot, and I'm usually between Mewtwo and Gardevoir, sometimes Grumpig, Espeon, Cresselia and Alakazam get thrown in. I'll go with Mewtwo for being my favorite Legendary (right now?).
Rock:
Same thing with Ground types, Rock types aren't exactly my cup of tea, but my favorite spot was a toss between Aerodactyl and Kabutops. Onix and Tyranitar are also somewhere on the near-bys.
Steel:
I should probably say Lucario or Scizor, because I like these two a lot, but, I don't know, I just really like Steelix (even though I never use it). Dialga and Mawile are also almost nice.
Water:
This was probably even worse than the Flying and Fire types to choose. There are so many water types, and so many of them I love. And even though Gyarados is awesome in my book, and Seadra, Totodile, Milotic, Vaporeon and many others can score so high, I decided to settle in with Suicune, because he's so gorgeous.
