1. Coheed and Cambria
2. Led Zeppelin
3. Wolfmother
I like a bunch of old Rock, a little bit of new Rock (Atreyu ect.), and of course things from the 90's - Nirvana, Santana, ect. I really don't like ANY rap at all, but I like some Techno, and even some "Tango style" music lately. Basically, anything that sounds good to me, but up there are my top 3 bands, and will always be.

Wahay! A mod has something in common with me. Even thought I adore Muse and you only 'like' it on a Tier 3 level.
Anyway, Muse is the best band ever imho.
They are my favourite band. End of.
Bloc Party are good, Queens of the Stone Age are good, so are Taking Back Sunday. Loads more too.

I just discovered the Trans-Siberian Orchetra. They rock!
I like most anykind of music. 'cept for most rap. I don't like most of it.
Mostly I like stuff you can dance or sing to. Or gives me inspiration for a novel. XD

I always feel the need to divide up my music based on gender. I don't know why; maybe I'm just sexist, even though the majority of my favorites are on the women's list. I'm taking these straight off the top 100 of my last.fm chart.
Women: ABBA, Alanis Morissette, Ani DiFranco, Annie Lennox, Bjork, Blondie, The Cardigans, The Cranberries, Cyndi Lauper, Damone, Dido, The Dresden Dolls, Eurythmics, Evanscence, Fefe Dobson, Fiona Apple, Flyleaf, Frou Frou, Garbage, The Gathering, Goldfrapp, Gwen Stefani, Heart, Hole, Janet Jackson, Janis Joplin, Jewel, Kate Bush, Kelly Clarkson, KT Tunstall, Kylie Minogue, Lisa Loeb, Luscious Jackson, Macy Gray, Madonna, Melissa Etheridge, Metric, Michelle Branch, Natalie Imbruglia, Natalie Merchant, No Doubt, Pat Benatar, PJ Harvey, Pink, Poe, Portishead, Rilo Kiley, Sarah McLachlan, Shakira, Sheryl Crow, Sinead O'Connor, Sixpence None the Richer, Sleater-Kinney, The Spice Girls, Stevie Nicks, Tori Amos, Tracy Bonham, Vanessa Carlton, Veruca Salt, Within Temptation, Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
Men: Aerosmith, Alice in Chains, AFI, Audioslave, Cake, Coldplay, Dave Matthews Band, David Bowie, Death Cab for Cutie, Depeche Mode, Erasure, Fischerspooner, Gorillaz, Green Day, Guns N' Roses, Jethro Tull, Kamelot, Led Zeppelin, Live, Muse, nine inch nails, Nirvana, Ozzy Osbourne, Pearl Jam, A Perfect Circle, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, R.E.M, Rufus Wainwright, Seal, The Smashing Pumpkins, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, Velvet Revolver, The White Stripes.
Both: The B-52's, Conjure One, Fleetwood Mac, Lacuna Coil, Nightwish, Scissor Sisters.
Here are the bands and artists that, for one reason or another, I cannot STAND: 3 Doors Down, AC/DC, Beastie Boys, Cher, DAUGHTRY, Elton John, Fall Out Boy, Fergie, HINDER, Jet, JoJo, Lillix, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Metallica, My Chemical Romance, Nickelback, O-Zone, PANIC!1! at the Disco, Paris Hilton, Phil Collins, Rush, Victoria Beckham
I do believe I've officially covered ALL the bases. ¬.¬

I'd like to think I've got pretty varied tastes.
The Bands/Artists I love:
The Fratellis - I nearly got to see these guys live. Tried to book the ticket just too late.
Iron Maiden - I picked up one of their CDs once, and thought it'd be an idea to listen to them. Good choice, methinks.
Green Day - I know they get a bad rep for being anti-Republican; I'm not particularly fond of the Republican party anyway, but that's unrelated. I think Green Day have some good songs, 'specially St. Jimmy.
Metallica - Not sure if the few songs I've got are from pre-1984 or not, I just got them from a friend.
Korn - Pretty much the first band I really got into, thanks to the aforementioned friend.
Drowning Pool - "Bodies" was the first song of theirs that I heard, and it's still my favourite.
Marilyn Manson - See Metallica.
Red Hot Chilli Peppers - I think they're songs are a mixed bag; Porcelain was awful. When they get it right, however, they pwn.
Pink Floyd - Very relaxing to listen to, IMO. I once made a music video to Money; it was terrible.
And finally...
Buena Vista Social Club - I got into the music when I was on a trip to Hungary (which was, incidently, one of the worst holidays I have ever had). I still haven't got round to getting them onto my MP3 player. ¬_¬
I don't really want to get into the whole business of classifying the music categories that each band are in.
The bands/artists I cannot stand:
The whole Rap genre - I have yet to find a rap that doesn't make me cringe.
Most pop music - More specifically, stuff like Westlife and Beyonce. I can't even begin to describe how annoying that sort of music is. And yes, I know that some of my favourites can be half-categorized as pop music. At least they have the decency to not suck.
Panic at the Disco! - I can't believe some people think this isn't pop. My friend likes them, and I think he's had a bit too much of the ol' beer.
