This is not about your favourite critter, though they may be one in the same, I am asking which little beastie (out of all three generations -- and the fourth, if you wish) you believe has either the sleekest, or best thought through design.
My personal belief is that design and whatnot went down hill after the first generation, although Scizor and Suicune do have some potential.
Easily, Scyther is what I

I'd say Gengar, Kabutops, or Mew.
Now then, the worst ones are Sneasel and Absol. Their bodies somewhat lack symmetry, which for some unknown reason is a very prominent pet peeve of mine...

I feel the same way about symmetry. But IMO the worst design is Ditto and the best are the Hoenn Legendaries plus Mewtwo. THe Hoenn Legendaries look so ancient which is really kool especially with Kyogre, Groudon, and Rayquaza's markings. And I just think Latios and Latias look kool. I also think Jynx is kool, but Mr. Mime is lacking. AND MANENE IS AWESOME!

One pokemon that I've decided I'm really a fan of is Gardevoir; it's got a great look, as well as a fantastic Sp. Sweeping movepool. Plus, it's one of the few pokemon (I've found) who has a bunch of good moves that are all the same contest type (Smart) that are also good for battling. Thus, I think it's one of the best-thought-out pokemon in the Gems versions.

Kabutops, yes. Yes indeed. A job well done there, too.
However, I quite like Absol; there is just something about it that strikes a cord in me. I think it

Well, Gardevoir has a very nice design (...), and it is one of the reasons I love it. It has lots of thought put into it, it doesn't look like an animal. (I like most Pokemon in the Indeterminate group, because they do not resemble animals)I also think that Seadra is very streamlined and cool, as opposed to Kingdra, which looks like blue seaweed IMO.

Hoenn's "ancient legendaries" look the best, IMO. I also like Gardevoir, Umbreon and Suicune, pretty randomly.
I think Rayquaza has got to be the coolest Pokemon around up too date, though. An ancient dragon with peculiar, red markings. Lol, I've been waiting for a Pokemon like that for years (just about, anyway).

Cal, I agree. Rayquaza (that is, a legendary dragon) is something I had always hoped for in the pokemon series. I really do like its design, and I think the Groudon, Kyogre and Rayquaza trio is rather well thought out. -- Gotta love those markings, ey?
There seems to be an underlying, unanimous agreement that Hoenn's Legendary Dogs are perhaps the choice designs. However, Entei, I think, isn

From the first generation i'd say Dragonite (he looks great) and Scizor from the second (looks like a samurai) but the third generation... uhh they looks made over night. Rayquaza is nicer than the rest but could have been better.
And an honorable mention to Arcanine and Lugia.

One word: Flygon. Streamlined, powerful-looking, symmetrical. Its head-tails look perfect, its body looks light and thin, its tail could sythe through steel. Perfect genius.
A mention for Aerodactyl as well. It has all of Flygon's qualities, and a look of destructive anger.

I agree with goldenquagsire on this one. Flygon, although not really my favorite pokemon, had a very nice design - and it is really cute. (I still wish it was Bug/Dragon...)
Others that I think had a great design (and are really cute) are Teddiursa, Dragonite, and Lugia.
Oh...and the new pokemon, Lucario. I've admired it's design since Rukario was first introduced.

Well, it is in the Bug breeding group, if that's any consolation. Funny, it's the only member of that family to have no Bug typing,
Anyway, they made BIG mistakes in RSE. Spheal and its evolutions look deformed, and when I first saw Zigzagoon I nearly vomited at it's spikiness. Oh well, Swellow, Lombre and Linoone make up for those horrible errors.

Krisp, sorry to say, but I am really not a fan of Lucario... there's just something about it that strikes me as odd. I can't even describe what it is.
goldenquagsire, in regards to Flygon, I totally agree: very streamline indeed
Hopefully the people at Nintendo won't disappoint this time 'round. Though I must say, Diarugia and Parukia (if that's even how they're spelt) are quite nice. Especially Parukia, I think. Lets hope that the remainder are equally, or as well designed.

I have one thing to say about Absols:
FR/LG/R/S/E Design = Koolness
Colloseum/XD/Anime Design = Suckiness
Colloseum, XD, and the anime poof up their fur way too much, turning them each into the cuddly Shaggy Dog, instead of the ferocious beast they really are.

Yeah, Dragonite has a really good design. Especially the fact that it is a friendly dragon, pretty unique.
I also like the birds, though I'm not to keen on Articuno's design. But meh, I think Zapdos' design was well thought-up. And the updated artwork for FR/LG makes it even more amazing.

Anyway, although it's not a powerful Pokemon, I think Fearow has a very sleek design. It's got a menacing touch, and although I don't like it much, I have to admit it does look sorta cool. As for overall best design, I have to go with Arbok, because I love the hood/face thing.

<s>Some</s> Most Hoenn Pokemon are good in looks IMO, but crappy otherwise. I like Masquerain's design, for example, but it is useless in battle...

I agree with pelligargetic on Mewtwo's design. I also think Jirachi looks pretty neat. I don't know about the rest of you, but it reminds me of a little kid in a huge jester's hat.

Hmm.. I really, really love the legendary Pokemon- pretty much all of them bar the Regis (sentient boulders, anyone?), Rayquaza (someone's been at the lipstick..), Groudon (its.. a big red tyrannosaurus..) and Ho-Oh (it looks maniacal and it doesn't have all seven colours, so I don't think its 'rainbow bird' title fits somehow). But the rest, I really really like.
Actually, mostly I just like nearly all the Pokemon for their looks, bar the ones that just look like rocks or cushions or something that doesn't look alive..
