I don't know if this is a common problem, or just my ruby. I have kept my pokemon seperate in ruby, emerald, and fr, but now that diamond and pearl are out I've been wanting to trade all of my powerful pokemon into emerald, and then into diamond. I have no problem using the wireless communicator between FR and emerald, but using a game cable with either FR or emerald to ruby doesn't work, just keeps having the "Please wait. B button: cancel" with no response. I highly doubt it's the cable or the game boys as it works fine trading/battling with the older generations such as gold silver. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Is there anyway I can use the wireless communicator with ruby that I'm missing? Thank you in advance, and sorry for the long post.

No, Ruby and Sapphire can't use the wireless adapters. Not sure what's up with your cable, though.

This question comes up a lot.
Okay, on your cable, it should have a switch with two markings: GBA and GBC. Make sure that the switch is closest to GBA, then try to trade again.
If it still doesn't work, then there's something wrong internally with your cable.

For Emerald, you know the technique where you could use it to make your hidden base thing, what is it called and where can you get it?

TM 43 - Secret Power. Obtained from a man standing next to a tree on route 111. Teachable to nearly every single Pokemon.
Grammar not used.

Thanks! Oh, and where can I find the places that I could use hidden power on?

Just search around for any out-of-place looking part of the background, e.g. lone trees, grass clumps, small holes, etc. You'll know pretty quickly that it's a secret base location when you find it.

Pretty much as soon as possible. Feebas only learns 3 moves by level up, none of which are any good really, and the higher a level you evolve it at, the more of Milotic's level up attacks you miss learning.
Edit: Yes, you could then re-learn any you miss from the Move Rememberer, but it's simpler to just learn it before, and there's not really anything to be gained by waiting to evolve it.

Thank you for the quick responses! My game cable is pretty old so I'm not suprised it's the problem. I got it when gameboy advanced first came out (and I'm still using it! Don't have a gameboy sp or ds, but I hope to get one sometime. The ds, not the sp.) So I'll go to a few gamestops or babages and see if they have any. If not, then it's ebay for me. Again, thank you for the responses .

A word of caution; I just took a look at my little sister's DS Lite, and there appear to be no cable jacks. GBA games are also incompatible with the DS' built in WiFi, so there's no way to trade between GBA games using a DS. I'm not sure if you were planning on using the DS to try to trade between GBA games, but if you were, be warned.

Try comparing their Psydex pages to see which one's stats and movesets best fits your style. Neither one is "better", the simply have different strengths and weaknesses.

To a certain extent, it also depends on how your choice would complement the other Pokemon in your party. You might want to post your team in the Rating Center, and ask the raters there to help you decide which to use, between the two.

In Fallarbor, just to the west, from the Fossil Maniac's house, after beating the Elite Four.

for some reason it doesn't give me the option to switch pokemon after i defeat one of the trainers pokemon. anyone know how to fix this besides restarting(wasn't really a problem before but since I'm at the E4 it's really annoying)
p.s. this has happened to me at least 3 times in every gen game except D/P (only played through once and the glitch hasn't happened

Go into your options, you can change to set the battle style as switch-out-able or fixed. Have you checked that? It might be the problem.

thanks that worked.
i'd always wondered what that option meant, i usually leave it on shift but i guess i changed it and forgot.
managed to beat E4 minus champ with it like that (sadly i forgot to save after the fourth guy so now i have to re-beat him...*sigh*.... last time was pure luck.
