Squirtle>Wartortle>Blastoise are the best because Once Blastoise comes out of the evolution scene it is like having a walking tank on your team...literally!!!

I would say Charamander because it has great attack, and when it starts to transform, the speed goes higher. My favourite starter pokemon in all versions.

I personally like all of them because i use these sets on them
- Flamethrower, Dragon Claw, Fly, Earthquake
- Surf, Ice Beam, Earthquake, Mirror Coat
- Sludge Bomb, Giga Drain, Leech Seed, Synthesis
But I chose Charizard because he is a challenge

I always perform the cheat to get all three then officially start with Bulbasaur so i can get Entei. Whoever said that Entei was useless has clearly never battled him under my command

All of the starters are equal. There is no "best". Charmander is more on Attack and Sp. Attack, Squirtle is more on Defense and Sp. Defense and Bulbasaur is balenced. Bulbasaur is best for starters as you have an advantage through half of the game. Squirtle comes next as it IS defensive, and can handle attacks. Charmander is for people who want true power, as it shows not only Dragon-type aspects, but is fearse in battle. It's what you prefer, and what type of Pokemon you like best!

This time round, i couldn't be bothered to do the cheat, so i got Bulbasaur (for Entei) and my sister got Charmander (for Suicune). I'm just gonna convince her to swap, coz she likes Grass/Poison types more than i do. Personally, i think the Bulbasaur line is a bit of a pansy, but it is true that it is good for beginners

Im gonna have to go with squirtle because he has not only the best movepool but also is all water type and gets the best amount of stab.

Squirtle is the best because Water pokemon are very good all rounders against just about anything (Except Grass and Electric Types) I choose Squirtle for this very reason because I have tried to do the game with a Bulbasaur and a Charmander. It was very difficult to even do the game because of this. So I say, choose Squirtle.

My story is:
First time round, great game. Chose Bulbasaur cause it was the theme of LG. Started well. After the 8th gym, I had a Lv. 47 Venusaur. I got absolutely creamed by Gary's Lv. 50 Charizard. So..
Second time round, better game. Chose Squirtle cause it was more balanced. Owned most the gyms, creamed Gary with Ice Beam, Surf and Earthquake from Lv. 53 Blastoise. Owned the E4. So..
Overall, Squirtle is the best. I've never tried Charmander, but it seems to be the toughest choice. I'd go with Squirtle. But make sure you battle ALL trainers and train up squirtle.

My favorite starter is definitely . The coolest one in the game, just because, well... it is. However, the one I chose this time around is , for a couple reasons. First, I got FireRed, so he's the obvious choice because he's the featured one. Second, I decided I wanted to found "Team Dragon" which makes the only choice, because he evolves into , who, along with and forms the backbone of that idea. That said, I've never really liked , for some unknown reason. I don't really like grass in general, in fact.

I chose cuz he is SO cute in Snap when you throw the apples at him! But the real reasons are because
a) looks like a million bucks,
b){charizard} is good against some of the E4 and
c) 's grown on me from the word go.

I agree with PKMNgamer21. I never got Ice Beam, but instead use powerful Psychic-types to take most Grass-Poison-tpypes out...And Pidgeot, and Dragonite. I vote for Blastoise too.

was my favorite pokemon from the start. I still remember training my first to level 100 back when I was a wee tyke playing me red version...
has since faded from my interests, however. arrived and instantly overtook zard as my favorite. Nontheless I started my FireRed with Charizard and had a good game with him. Instantly I despised its quad weakness to rock and its weakness to electricity, but I persevered and still beat the game fine. But... It just wasn't up to standard.
I'd have to say . No dual-types to come and bite ya in the arse, and good defensive stats to boot. Awesome movepool, able to cover its major weaknesses...
Dang it! Where's my FireRed version? *dusts it off and restarts* GIVE ME A BLASTOISE!

I never liked Squirtle too much. My favorite is Bulbasuar. In FR however, I'm restarting my game today and I'm picking Squirtle to get the last legendary dog.

If you think you are a beginner go on with
If you think you are an advanced choose
If you think you are an expert pick
They are all tough and strong and have a few weaknesses
