Hi folks, I'm new. This is my first topic.
I'm wondering if the genders of , and are generated when you face the trainer that has it or if they are generated at the very start of the game.
I played through Colosseum one time and my was a girl but the and the were both boys. So I started over and now the guy with the has a boy. I re set the game 5 times to see if the would be a girl and it was a boy each time. So I'm wondering if maybe I just didn't re set enough times or if maybe the genders of those Pokemon are carved in stone at the beginning of the game.
The reason I'm asking is because if I understand the breeding guide correctly, I need girl , and 's in order to get my , and .
I got a girl the first time I played through so I let it slide, but for the and the I need girls to breed them... and I got boys the first time...

I think it's pretty random, but there is a higher chance of finding boys

Not really, no. I was looking for specifics.

Are you saying it's randomized when you face the trainer that has the Pokemon, or is it randomized from the beginning of the game? What I need to know is whether or not the randomization that decides the gender takes place when you face that trainer, or if it's pre determined from the outset of the game. In other words, when are the dice rolled?

You can breed the boy , and 's with a ditto and get the kids? Right on. I'll try that, hope it works.
As for mating with a ditto ... umm... yeah...
Meanwhile, I'm still wondering what is the exact moment that a pokemon's gender is chosen in Colosseum. When -are- those dice rolled?

If I'm not mistaken, I believe it's at the beginning of the game.

it does work..And if you want them to have a particular egg move, keep breeding till you get female babys of that pokemon, and let it mate with the male pokemon with special move you want...
eXample:
1. + = {cyndiquil} (keep trying till you get a female one)
2. {cyndiquil} + PkmnWITHmove...(male)= {cyndiquil} with move..
you probably know this but yeh just saying,,,,

theresearcher wrote: how the heck do9 you get all three collesuem guys like croconaw and quil and bay After you choose Bayleef/Croconaw/Quilava you can battle the person with the pokemon with a disadvantage to the one you chose (If you chose Croconaw you'll fight the one with Quilava) in Team Sangem's Hideout, then the one with the starter you haven't caught yet in Shadow Pokemon Lab.
And Mightyena_17 the gender ratio for all the starters is 12.5% chance being Female and 85.5% chance being Male, so your pretty lucky if you get a girl. But never fear, ditto can breed 'em with no matter what and produce eggs of them.

Wait, so if I get a male croconaw (which is what I have), and a female ditto, I can get a totodile?? That'd be nice.
