I normally picked Bulbasaur, cuz it is easy to beat Brock and Misty since Grass owns them pretty badly. Only bad thing, Bellsprout shows up in the area north of Cerulean City, so sometimes I picked Charmander, since not very fire pokemon are available in the first few hours of the game.

i chose charmander too. had a harder time in RBY, in LG theres metal claw. charizards also my favourite starter(and fav RBY pokemon)

I've played Red and Blue so many times that I've used each starter several times already. But the very first starter I used was Squirtle, since the turtle's my favourite animal.

I think I chose him because I was playing Blue Version, and then I turned into a water pokemon freakazoid. o_0 I also liked him because looks way cool.

When I first got Red I chose Squirtle, and got him to a Blastiose before fighting LT. Surge. Then when I got Blue, I chose Bulbasaur, which i nicknamed him "Ruasablub" (bulbasaur backwards) and always called him "Rusablub" cuz it sounded cool, lol. Peace Out!
