So, my wife is interested in Pokemon. Where do I even start with this? Do I get her to watch the show? Read the manga? Play the games? Collect the cards? And yes I'm living the dream, but I don't know where to start. Suggestions?

I asked a friend of mine, who is married, and he gave this answer: Quote: You would go with whatever her interest would be, and show her how that's cool and slowly intergrate the other parts of it. eg if she's a gamer, you could start off with the games and bring in other parts.

If she watches similar shows to Pokemon (so Cartoon Network or 4Kids stuff), then start with the anime. If she loves to read, start with the manga. If she plays cards whether it be Poker or Yugioh, introduce her to TCG (And TCG Online). If she's a gamer, introduce her first with any main series game you can get readily available. And if she's a token girly girl who knows nothing about Pokemon, buy her some plushies and lecture her with Bulbapedia

If she's doing the typical "I dunno" when you ask her what she'd prefer, buy her a copy of the latest game and gift it to her with a cute plushie.
My sister refused to get into Pokémon, so one day whilst she was sat on the sofa, trolling FB on the laptop, I put on the first movie and by the end of the film she was wiping tears from her eyes, threatening me not to tell anyone. And now she's 19 and enjoying her first playthrough on Pokémon Pearl.

I can't really add anything better, because I think DNA nailed it.
