I'm restarting my Pokemon Platinum game, just for fun, and I've decided to be strategic about it. After looking at the walkthrough on psypokes.com, I've decided that I want the following team.
Abomasnow Houndoom Quagsire Golem Drifblim Medicham
I've come to the conclusion of that team based on the gym leaders, the elite four and Cynthia.
What I want to know is, what movesets should I have for these pokemon? Also, which pokemon should I start out with, obtain along the way, etc.?
Thanks :3

Try to get them as fast as you can, so you can train them all equaly. Also, for the moveset, use STAB to destroy your ennemies. So for Abomasnow, you should use ice and grass type. (it gives a power boost) And since abomasnow summon hail, try using blizzard, with 100% accuracy. I may post moveset later.

When I played pokemon Leaf Green I had a Houndoom and towards the end (before the Elite 4) I was strategic about movesets for him. The moves mine had were ( I think ) were Fire Fang, Faint Attack, and Flamethrower. (Can't for the life of me remember the last one; I played LG so looong ago.) But basically if you want to be strategic with any of them give them one or two (at the most) sp. atk and sp. def. altering attacks and let the others be their types and physical.
And since you said you were playing Platinum you can teach a few other choice moves to Houndoom too.
That's all I got haha good luck.

It's always interesting to decide not to use your starter Pokemon but in that case you really need to get your first team members as soon as possible to limit the amount of EXP that goes to waste. My recommended movesets are as follows (trying to use mainly levelup moves because I don't remember which TMs you get when)
Abomasnow: Ice Shard, Wood Hammer, Blizzard, Grasswhistle/RazorLeaf/Swagger/Shadow Ball Houndoom: Thunder Fang, Fire Fang, Flamethrower, Bite/Faint Attack Quagsire: Yawn, Mud Bomb, Surf, Earthquake Golem: Rock Blast/Stone Edge, Magnitude/Earthquake, Rollout/Brick Break/Gyro Ball, Stealth Rock/Rock Polish/Defense Curl Drifblim: Payback, Gust/Thunderbolt/Psychic, Shadow Ball, Ominous Wind/Thunderbolt Medicham: Meditate/Calm Mind, Confusion/Psychic, Ice Punch/Thunderpunch, Force Palm/Hi Jump Kick
There's way more options than these since this is the main story so you're not limited to these but these work very well, especially for Golem and Abomasnow since I used those 2 on my Platinum team.
