why does it need that move..?? unless i'm mistaken, i'm pretty sure there are flying-types that don't have that move...
that's a good point actually...
I'm not saying it needs that move. I'm saying that it shouldn't be able to learn it, so the whole 'roost argument' shouldn't be an issue.

Where is this argument you're so adamant about?

Quote: People need to stop throwing out Roost as an excuse for there not being any pure Flying Pokemon. For one thing, if a pure Flying uses Roost, it is simply typeless for the rest of the turn, meaning that it doesn't have any weaknesses, resistances or immunities. Gamefreak have already laid the ground work to make sure that the games don't implode in on themselves if a pure Flying-type uses Roost, so that move is not the reason why we don't have one. Also, that argument doesn't even hold up when you consider that they didn't introduce Roost until Generation IV. What was their excuse for not having a pure Flying Pokemon in Generations I, II OR III?

I've read that. I'm just saying that if they made a cloud pokemon and it was only flying type, the whole roost thing shouldn't be a problem because I wouldn't think that a cloud would be able to roost in the first place. I'm not saying that the roost argument is valid. I'm saying that BECAUSE it won't be able to roost, we won't need to think about whether or not it's type changes to ??? or whatever. And if you hack the game into learning roost, it's the player's fault that they're messing with game, but I'm sure Game Freak would find a way around it.

Now that we're all in agreement, this thread is pointless. We need at least one person to say "No, it would be Normal/Flying".

Ok,
-NO! It would be Normal/Flying X_X
-No it wouldnt!
-Yes it would!
-Why would it?
-Why wouldnt it?
-Good point...moving on.
But i do think it would be flying, there's no reasoning to say a cloud would be Normal type. Plus, it doesnt have to be a cloud, that was just an example!

It could evolve into a rain cloud or a tornado. e_o. If it's a rain cloud, you'd think it be water or electric or flying.

Clouds should be water anyway.
I think there's not a pure flying because there's nothing (outside of an elemental spirit) that COULD be pure flying.
Even an elemental could be Dragon/Psychic/Ghost/Dark.

A strange white Pokémon came from outer space. It only has one wing on its left side, and it is covered in fur. It has a head resembling a feline's, with a duckbill, but its body is almost gorilla-esque, without the muscle. And it had a tail like that of a lemur which was spray-painted a hot-magenta color. This Pokémon's similarity with any animal ends here. It can fly, but it can't use fire, water, ice, electricity, darkness, poisons, or supernatural force, nor does it resemble one who can do such things, it cannot manipulate metal, minerals, or plants, nor does it have such materials in its anatomy, it does not resemble a dragon, a bug, or any other animal naturally found on Earth, and its muscular power is too weak to be classified as a Fighting-type. Therefore, it is Flying alone.

maybe a pure flying could be something that controls air like rotom fan but flying through the air with wings isn't exactly its main feature

If the Pokémon's flight wasn't its main feature, then it wouldn't have a chance at being a pure Flying.

That's probably one of the fundamental problems; the fact that the type is called flying not air or wind.

Honestly, fans of the flying types should really appreciate the normal type combo. Being normal/flying gives them an immunity to ghost pokemon and that's a big advantage.

Yes, but thats not the point. The immunity to ghost types doesnt make up the whole game, and we would just like to see a pure flying. For some reason what you just said kinda ticks me off a bit...maybe because thats not our point at all.

Jesus, can you calm down please?
I just thought I'd put both what you said and what you were referring to in the same post so you could realize how childish you're being.
Yeah, the Normal partnership really is nice for that reason, Sabrina, I never thought about that.
But what about the bonus of being resistant to fighting rather than neutral? That'd be pretty cool.
Hm, still though, TWO immunities is nothing to shake a stick at.

...Well if im being childish, you should realize that compared to you (most of) guys, I AM A CHILD! Im only 12! And i only said that what she said kinda ticked me off and the immunity to ghost types was not everyones point. Sure its a good thing but you can have a Normal/Flying along with a Flying if u really want a pure flying and also want someone immune to Ground and Ghost. And not everyone cares about the ghost immunity, basically wasnt the point of this thread because we wanted a pure flying???

Honestly, is there really much to argue about for ten pages on a pure flying type Pokemon? I can't wait for the damn game to come out so this forum isn't plagued with the same 3 retarded threads.

...funny picture when did that happen in the series? And the thread isnt completely arguing...plus your wish might not come true since this isnt completely about if a pure flying will be in the next game...theres like a 0.00000000000000001% chance there will be though...but...i guess the thread is a little retarded, and repetetive...
3 threads? Do you mean types that need more pokemon in gen. 5 and...whatever else...cant remember at the moment
