Easily this hole. Damn, what a **** MESS. There is not one staff member here who will touch that forum with a 10 foot pole. I've tried sticking people there randomly to see if they would moderate it, but they won't. Why? Because it's by far the worst forum ever. It takes the piss out of Fan Art, Role Playing, and Hoenn Generation (I only say that last one because I used to be the moderator of Hoenn Generation). It is truly cancerous.
I don't want to piss anyone off if I purge it by deleting their "artwork", but something really has to be done. So I want a public opinion on what I should with it. I was going to list "DELETE IT" as an option (because I wouldn't mind deleting it all together), but I don't want that to be the joke option everyone votes for.
So can I have a public opinion on "Sunyshore Market"?

QFT because I'm one of them.

Let it be noted: I don't want an angry mob of people plotting to kill me like certain people did after we sank Psypoke Isles. I don't want to piss people off and make them leave, I just want to clean up that forum.

It doesn't seem too terribly different from fan art to warrant having its own forum, so you could just merge the two, or delete it all together. People could still make requests in fan art. I don't really see the point in having a "market" for fan art, and it seems more logical to just display what you've made. I voted for turning it into a trade forum because having only one thread for that could get kind of confusing, but I don't know how many people here actually trade on wifi.

I'm not merging them. That's like two planets colliding.
Back in the day we had ONE THREAD for art requests. Yes, it was the opposite of today where we have an entire forum for art and one thread for trading. I think there's a much bigger demand for trades than art to be honest. Actually now that I think about it, Slateport City didn't even exist until the end of 2005.

I voted that you should purge it, but within reason. I happen to enjoy some of the shops there and appreciate some of the work the spriters do, and I know I'm not the only one here who can say that. However, I can see that it is a huge forum with no real regulations other than the Shop Approval Thread and rules for posting set by shop owners. And occasionally Swift pops in to tell someone their sig is violating Psypoke policy and that someone's double posted. Therefore, I think you should just go through and wip out all the shops that don't generally get a lot of visitors. The more popular shops should probably stay while those who haven't recieved posts/have been left unattended by shop owners should be terminated. I don't think it would be fair, though, to just wipe out the whole forum as they do provide a neat bit of aesthetic quality to the site and could encourage new members joining if they see what membership here entitles them to. "I can get cool sprite fusions and a Trainer Card if I just ask for it? Bitchin'!" Thus, we pull in some new members. I've never been into the Fan Art or Role Playing forums for more than a minute to see what was in there, so I don't know what to tell you about those places. This is just my opininon; feel free to slaughter it.

Let's be honest here. Is there really such a thing as a "cool" Pokemon fusion? Also, Pokecharms can generate free trainercards too, and there's no waiting involved.

I remember volunteering to take a crack at moderating it when I had dial up. That was a mistake. :[
I like the word purge. :O

What I meant when I said "cool," Krisp, was more along the lines of, "aesthetically noticable and pleasing." It is kind of neat to see a mashup of Lugia, Seedot, and Pikachu sometimes, you know? I personally think some of the fusions trun out really cool in my definition. I looked through the Market and I think I know what shops you should probably leave. These are the one's I would deem "successful" through their frequent requests, oreders being filled quickly, and quality work as well as consumer apprecitation:
1) Mektar's Splicing Laboratory - kid does excellent work whether you think so or not, he always gets things done withing a few days, and most customers express that they like his work.
2) The Pokemon Art Gallery - pokemon_god and Shiny Dialga 2 have a good knack for spriting as one can see by veiwing merchandise here. They always have things done quickly and most people reply that they love the work that was done by either spriter.
3) The Fusions Market - I only want to save this shop because it's been around for a long time. I can't tell if it's closed or not because orders haven't been filled for a while in there. I've just gathered from around the forums here that Afonso is great at spriting and he does a lot of good work.
4) The End Shop - Ender can make some really awesome signatures. I've looked through and seen some of his banners and whatnot and they turn out really nice. He's also been around a really long time. His shop is a little backed up atm, but we all have real lives and he puts in some good work when he pops back into Psypokes.
I feel that these 4 shops have really gained a lot of attention whether it be from newer members or members who just happen to look in there one day. Everything else can probably be expunged. Maybe one or two others shops can be spared based on your own opinion. And you can just have people moderate those few shops as well as screen new arrivals, etc.

In all honesty, if no one is interested in fixing up Sunyshore, I'd be more than happy to take up the challenge. Here's why:
1) Slateport was the first subforum that I dug around in, the first that made me want to stay at Psypoke, the forum that made me my first ever online friends. So I don't want to see it go, it could give so many newbies a chance to integrate into Psypoke
2) I do believe (I could be wrong) that I was around for when Slateport gained the most steam, and thus I know its potential to be a bustling, exciting and active forum, and so am familiar with the way it operates and its workings
3) I'm fairly competent when it comes to image skills, which could be useful for helping out or providing advice on running a successful store (not to be arrogant or anything but my store was pretty popular back then)
4) I've got time; I check the forums fairly regularly. Ive also got experience moderating and I don't think I've ever been unfair.
if you're willing to give me the reigns I wouldn't be an ass or anything and start mass locking shops, I'd just give them a rinse down and probably write up some helpful threads, before moving onto some ideas that could get them back up again.
Im actually being serious

Post or PM me if you're interested. So yeah, I guess they're going to be merged.

I actually like the idea of it being merged. There's only a few good "shops". I seriously miss the days when the majority of the shops were good with people like Tessa, Kryten, GQ, etc. Those were legitimately amazing shops. I like to think that when I was interested in graphic design I was pretty good and had a couple of pretty good shops, but that's a whole 'nother story. But I respect and totally agree with this decision and I'd like to give moderating that new forum a shot.

I wish those people were still around so they could run this thing, actually. After I get enough PMs I'll make the application and select the people I can trust with this responsibility.

Being slightly new, I know this is not my area, but I'll moderate it.

They are back, have been for a year. Just not really being used.
For a while, it was operating for free, or some people were getting trades and clones.

Oh, I would be interested in modding this. I'm usually on my account everyday and I would be fair. I usually go through the posts I've already made in forums to see if anything is new in them. The forums subjects that have icons lit up I check.
