I've started and re-started my game like 4 times now .. I know, right. But, I can't decide on a team that I really like. Here's what I'm leaning on though for now.
1.
2.
3.

5.

What do ya think?

I would go with flareon, since you team might be a little spec. heavy with magmar.
Given the option I would definately take nidoking for raw power over nidoqueen, despite her larger movepool. And as a personal choice I would take pinsir for covering pesky psychics and darks.
Decent team though.

It's just for playing through the game - as I'm not really into online stuff.

I understand that, otherwise it would have got a resounding "Meh." The critiques I made are fairly universal, though.

Nice! I see your a Dark enthusiast.
How do you get Spiritomb? It's honestly one of my favorites ever.

I agree with over for the same reasoning.
As for the last slot?
You seem to have a pretty defensive team, so if you want to continue that trend...
But I must admit, and are pretty flippin strong.
Then again...so is ...
K, so the last one is totally up to you. I have no advice =P

From a japanese person who is apparently a VERY avid runner (Marathon maybes). When I got it had the straight pokewalker moveset and leveling...
Athough I'm starting to doubt ANYONE could walk that much.

I'm working on this team:
(Hopefully with Surf, from the PokeWalker.) now
I have all of them except the Raichu, but only Fearow is fully evolved... I still need a Fire, Thunder and Water stone, so... Bleh.
Of course, constructive criticism is always welcome, but don't get mad if you think they're not good choices, I play for fun, not strategy!
Edit: All evolved! Except for Raichu, because I caught a Mareep and decided that Ampharos might be a better choice, both for the novelty of it being a Jhoto Pokemon and for its stats. ^-^

I'd throw an Eeveelution in there somewhere.
All three original stones are much more easily accessed thanks to the Pokeathalon,
and friendship really doesn't take too long now thanks to them following you and the Pokewalker.
There's also a bunch of nifty stuff in the Safari Zone now.
You should totally check that out, it's where I go when I don't know what I want.

Probably...
Typhlosion
Scizor
Lapras
Nidoking
Muk
NO IDEA on the 6th right now. Any suggestions folks? I like to try and go with pokemon who don't have too many weaknesses, I also like those who can learn a variety of moves so my odds of a super effective attack are higher(nidoking and muk having good variety and decent stats, though I don't like 4 weaknesses on nidoking).
I feel a grass pokemon would be good, with a secondary type which helps limit weaknesses. However at the same time because I'd have given a few of the above electric moves and fire moves..I dunno it seems what would be weak to grass, would have already been dealt with.
Maybe a ghost pokemon, something with an interesting ability like shedninja? Or even though I don't always like to use them, maybe a legendary..Lugia probably.
I haven't played since the original pokemon gold and so the choice of pokemon is overwhelming. Any advice would be super

Earthquake users are running rampant nowadays, so I'd recommend something good / resistant in regards to Ground-type.
A Levitating Ghost would be neat ... Actually, any Ghost would be amazing (but I'm a little biased towards them anyway lol).
If not Ghost, I'd say add a Grass-type. Victreebel, Vileplume, Bellossom, Tangrowth, Exeggutor, Sunflora, all have positives about them.

hmmm gah I can't decide!
I'm now thinking about Skarmory. Obviously two steels gives me a weakness to fire, but then grass would anyway. I'm not playing competitively so a magnezone magnet pull isn't a concern. Skarmory doesn't have the best stats, I'd probably put EVs 252HP, 252SpDef 4 Att and just cope with it's average attack value, sticking to physical moves which will offer me STAB?(steel wing, drill peck etc)

yeah I realise that, it is for in-game and battling friends casually but I'll just fill the gap with something else like my victrebell(sp?) until I get to blackthorn.

Going up against a team of level 100. The team consists of
Venusaur
Blastoise
Charizard
Pidgeot
Milotic
Dragonite/Salamence
My possible team to take this one will be
Venusaur
Empoleon
Typhlosion
Pidgeot
Ampharos
Tyranitar
Any suggestions on who would be the most affective against the first team (which I will be battling)?

On Soul Silver I tried to do an all-poison team.
Arbok
Weezing
Tentacruel
Crobat
Venomoth
Vileplume
But in the end I submitted to my needs for Normal Pokemon.
Swellow
Wigglytuff
Blissey
Exploud
Clefable
Miltank
