Ur-hum, let's see...
I have played both, and I like both.
Dungeon can be a little confusing, but generally fun, rescuing Pokemon.
Ranger is also fun, and admittedly simpler.
Depends on what you like in a game. Read up more on both, and get both.

In ranger there really isn't much excitement at all...no battles...only "capturingPokemon" by spinning your stylus round and round.....Dungeon is better cos it's a lot like battling, except your're the Pokemon, it's also quite realistic and it offers more logical and better move combos than in other versions.

Personally, I like Ranger more than Dungeon BECAUSE it was simpler and easier (I don't have enough time right now for complicated spin-offs, and I like the female Ranger's uniform )
Maybe, if one like this doesn't already exist (Mods, please forgive me if it does) , this should be turned into a poll if it becomes more popular. And it may be wise to change the name, people will be much more interested in "Ranger or Mystery Dungeon : Which do you like better?" instead of "which is better". (I almost skipped this thread.)
Hope it helps,
Crystal

agreed everyone has their opinon so neather is better
i like PMD better than PR for tha fact that its more complext and you battle. PR just loses the aspect of what pokemon the games stood for.

I love the music on PMD1, and I think the entire plot of the game is really good and well thought out. The only bad thing is it gets WAY too easy at the end. I never played PMD2, but from what I've heard, it's just as good as the original. I especially like the time gear stuff and that some of the Pokemon are evil.
For Pokemon Ranger, I think it's really cool that it's in a completely new region than anywhere else, and the same for Ranger 2. It's really a good addition to the Pokemon series because it introduces new kinds of trainers that think catching Pokemon is wrong and always release what they get. The game could have been longer, though.
Altogether, I'd say Mystery Dungeon is better, because it's the only game where you are a Pokemon and lets you see what the world is like if Pokemon replaced humans.

Pokemon Dungeon, defiantly.
Just reading the description for Pokemon Ranger bored me into a coma for a week.

Both.
Ranger for it's fun gameplay, and the MD series for it's fun gameplay, cool characters and great story (at least in 2).

Pokemon Ranger, you surprised me there.
I'd say dungeon, as it doesn't trash your DS screen.

In my opinion, it's dungeon. I'm a fan of RPG's.
Ranger...it wasn't the best...the only thing I really got out of it was a Manaphy at the end.
w00t second page :P

Well, I just made up the name. I truly don't know much about pokemon rangers. I also have never played ranger before but I hear it sucks.

I was considering getting it, but decided against it. Now, I have £30 (I'm English. Get over it.) more to spend on my dream laptop...
Another thing I'm glad about not getting it, is the fact my friend got it. Now, his touch screen is literally tore in half. Big scratches in the middle.

My DS has crop circles kidding. but still ranger wrecked my ds screen.
and not suprisingly i lean towards mystery dungeon mainly because of number 2 letting you have the emo trio all in a team
