Actually, the first game I played was Pokemon Red for GB, when I was like 3 or something...My first on console, the first was Super Smash Bros for the N64.

If you count it as playing even when you have a LOT of help from your parents, then the first game I played was Castles II for DOS, the first game I was able to play by myself was (I think) Sim city I didn't really play it too often though. The thing that really got me into gaming was a game pack released by maxis that had the game Sim copter. As far as games go, Sim copter was bad, pledged by poor graphics, weird glitches, etc. the car models didn't even have skins! but it was a REALLY fun game for some reason, I still go back and play it every now and then, it never fails to please me. The radio is another cool feature, the fake adds were hilarious, and the music was really good, and if you didn't like them, you could replace the music with other wav files.
Weirdly bad, but yet totally awesome. I loved that game.

I think it was Crash Team Racing, I played it at a friends house when I was five or six. I eventually bought a PS1 and that game. They actually both broke and I bought new ones of both.

Mine was either Super Mario Bros, or Super Mario Bros. 3, for the NES. Probably 3, because I think it's the greatest game ever. It is also a huge part of my childhood. Its always calling my name....SCONES SCONES SCONES. Play me, play me! I've had dreams of the game growing legs and crawling up my OH Snap lets not go offtopic!Mmmm!

The first games I remember playing was Super Mario Bros., Duck Hunt, and World Class Track Meet. Before that my dad had a TI-99 Home Computer that I would play Space Invaders on, though I probably wasn't any good at it.

I sarted playing when I was young enough I don't know exactly. I started by playing very, VERY simple computer games (some of them edutainment) at the age of about 2 (There is an old video tape I have proving this), and actual games at about 3. the first REAL video game I ever played was probably Donkey Kong Country. A very decent platformer to learn from. If only its save battery didn't die...
I also played Tetris now and then, but was horrible at it. Now, I'm OK at it...

Mario Bros and a duck hunting game (you needed a gun controller and you actually shot the ducks in the screen) for NES.

I believe it was Sonic 2.
It ignited my interest in video games. Sonic also became my MOST favorite character in all of video games.

My brothers weren't very videogameish, so i had to wait for a long time. Mario Kart 64 and ZOT >.> OT scared the crap out of me, and i couldn't drive, so i had to wait for like 2 years till i could play SM62 (which, btw, scared me, but not like ZOT)

It was Super Mario Land on the SNES.
But the first game I remember the most (but never played) is Final Fantasy III (which is Final Fantasy VI in America); my dad would play it all the time, and he's always name the charecters after the members of our family.
He'd always name Terra after me, Edgar after him, Celes after my mom, Relm after my baby sister and Locke after my middle sister (Hah!).
And that's probably why it's my favorite game of all time, and Terra's my favorite charecter.
......At little off topic, but it's still a fun thing to tell. :3

I honestly can't remember the very first games I played, but I do have some memories of the games in Super Mario All-Stars, Mario is Missing!, Mario's Early Years: Fun with Letters and Mario Paint. Of course there were other SNES games, like Beethoven's 2nd, Rocky Rodent and Barbie Super Model.
