I have the Darkness version (in Japanese) and I must say that it is superior to the first two PMD games. If you liked the first, then odds are you'll enjoy these new ones.

I'm also aiming to get this game, I loved the first one and I think this one proves superior to Red/Blue.
Of course there are things that I kind of disliked, like
the Kanghaskan Storage has less space and that even after beating the game, you cannot change the pkmn you got from the begining.
. But having more space in your inventory is somewhat nice.
And for all those who haven't seen it, here is a link to download the PMD2 Shortage, it's in Japanese... but it's fun.

A lot of people avidly like PMD (I being one of them), and after seeing the PMD2 commercial about 1 hour ago, it looks nearly identical to the second one in terms of gameplay, and sprites! (Yeah, the Pikachu and Charizard sprites are identical to those in PMD1.)
But the saying "To each his own" still holds true, it would appear. And I'm not complaining.
I'll just be all over the game.

I agree with DNA.
I loved the first game, and after watching a commercial for the second one, I definitely want it.

There have been a lot of rumors about the game lately, and it's finally been confirmed.
I haven't played pokemon for a while, but I think I'll pick up this game for old times sake.

I'll hopefully pick this up. But I just want to say. The only games that were superior to PMD were the Johto and Kanto games. Now days the games are just not up to caliber. I already took the Personality Test on Pokemon.com. I'm Impish and a Piplup. The description fits me perfectly.

Lol, I remember the personality test like that. I aimed for Cyndaquil but never got it. (Bear with me, I am going somewhere with this.)
The first I took the PMD1 test in the video game, I was Quirky/Meowth. I reset because I didn't want to be Meowth.
The second time, I was Hardy/Charmander. I chose him because he was close enough.
Then for lulz, I went to Pokemon.com and took the PMD1 test there.
And guess what I got?
Timid/Cyndaquil.
The irony is painful.

At the beginning of all PMD games, you're given a personality test. Depending on your answers it'll determine your nature, and the Pokemon you will become.
Pokemon.com has a personality test. Let me look for it...
Ah, here it is.
Just click that button that says "Take The Test".
