I have a level 82 kingdra in my Emerald game. In order to migrate it to my pearl is for it to forget surf. I go to the move deleter and it says that my Kingdra doesn't not wish to forget the move surf. What can i do?
kingdra was traded from my firered to emerald. if that has any importance. but i have been able to delete moves from other pokemon that i have traded to emerald.

I don't think you can use the move deleter on HM moves that you only have one of in your game. Try teaching another pokemon Surf, and then you should be able to migrate it over.

It might be because your Kingdra only has one move,Surf.A Pokémon can't forget it's only move so teach it another if that's all it has and you should be fine.

There are several threads in here about this that I am not going to look for, but I remember what they say. Here it is:
It's because Kingdra is the only one of your Pokemon that knows Surf; teaching Surf to another should leave you fine.
(Basically, what JsXtm said.)
SH, I believe that he would have had multiple moves on the Kingdra; if he didn't he probably wouldn't have bothered asking his question, as there was an obvious answer to why he couldn't delete its only move...

You guys are saying that all you have to do is make another pokemon learn surf but, when I tried to do that, it didn't work. So I just forgot about it and I am staring at it right now.
