More of a curiousity question really... does Substitute block self-inflicted confusion ala Petal Dance or Thrash?

I don't think so. It wouldn't block sleep from Rest either...no, IIRC Sub really only blocks damage/effects from opponent pokemon

Hmm, I reckon Safeguard follows the same pattern? I.e. you set up Safegaurd, send out a Pokemon with Toxic/Flame Orb, the status gets applied anyway? Same with Mist and moves like Overheat?

Definitely yes for Safeguard and Mist. Just as Clear Body doesn't stop you from lowering your own stats.

In the summary screen there should be something indicating that they have pokerus next to the pokemon's picture. I don't remember what it is but after they stop being contagious it's a little smiley face with a flat mouth.

There's a little status condition symbol that says "PKRS". It's possible that the pokemon with PKRS has another status condition that's covering it up on the summary screen (that was a glitch in RSE).

and because my camera won't focus well I tried to render it as best I could:
Hope this helps someone!

What are some good spots to EV train (aside from the haunted mansion for SA and Tentacool surfing for SD)? Not just for a single stat at a time, but maybe for two, like how the Power Plant in FRLG trained for Spd and SA and nothing else? Or, for that matter, areas with clusters of single- or dual-EV trainers which you've found.
Also, what're the best spots to hit rich trainers for cash?

Try this to find what you are looking for:

Also, for cash, I like to hit up at the start of Route 225 to get some money, but I'm sure there should be some richer trainers.

I'm trying to EV train my Mamoswine. It's Adamant, and I want it to be a physical sweeper, natually. I hatched it from Swinub, and gave it EXP share to get it to level 33 via Pokemon League. Judging from what I've read, I may have already screwed up the EV distribution.
Should I just breed for a new Swinub and EV train at the start? Or can berries save it? If so, what berries and where might I find them?

Berries #21-26
That's a good nature, I would recommend growing berries to remove EVs.

Actually, I was looking here, which amounts to the same thing - search is prettier, though. I'm just mistrusting my capacity to find the most efficient spots myself. I saw a thread just a minute ago where there were some suggestions, but I notice that there's no broad consensus as to the best EV spots in D/P like there is for FRLG.

I'm too lazy to test it out myself, but I'm also sure that someone has tested this already, so here it goes...
We all know that Lati@s is not banned from the WiFi Battle Tower, but does Soul Dew still work as a held item? I remember a thread somewhere in the forums that hinted at that, but I can't find it ATM. Can anyone help me here?

Only one of you has to invite, the other selects them.

Alright: Question about the Choice Band (and all other "lets you use only one move" items).
So its definition is "Increases Atk x1.5, but lets you use only one move". Does this mean that in a battle, a move is chosen, and that's the only move you can use for the remainder of the battle? Is the move chosen by the computer at random or is it whatever the first move chosen by the battler is?

^ It's the first move chosen by you, so be careful. Yeah, it's all that pokemon will be able to use for the rest of the battle, unless you switch it out. If that chosen move runs out of PP, the pokemon will use Struggle.

So you can't see anyone else? That seems very odd...are you absolutely sure that they added your FC correctly, and that you added theirs?
Were you using the upstairs WFC, or the basement regular wifi? (You should be going upstairs).

They were all across the USA. I went to the bottom and I saw nobody. Everything was right.

Couldn't find the exact link to the thread (search didn't work), but I do remember this:
RaichuLatias said that no, Soul Dew doesn't work. He couldn't OHKO anything on higher-up battles, despite having great IVs is Speed and SA.
It's only a paraphrase, so I don't remember the exact wording, but no, Soul Dew doesn't work.
