Do you think they should have let you travel to hoenn or kanto or joto?<misspelled> and let you do what the old games did

Well, I wouldn't mind for sure. Specially if they included the pokemon from their respective areas, it would be a lot easier to complete the national dex then.
But honestly, I'm happy with the game's exploring area. New regions would sure add a lot more depth to the story, but that would be asking too much from Nintendo on their very first Pokemon instalment on the Ds.

It would be cool if you could go to the different regions. If you could battle all the gyms & E4 & champions of the other regions that would be sweet. Getting all the badges from every region would be pretty tight.

Yes, I would have liked to have access to all regions, have a new story to begi, win all the 32 badges, capture all the non-event Pokemon... All that with the new 3D design and on the DS

I would love to go back to Hoenn, Johto, and Kanto like from the GSC generation because you could catch more Pokemon easily and see how the world has changed in the years that the protagonist was champion. (Such as Red being in Mt. Silver, Blue being 8th gym leader, etc.)

That was what I was anticipating in R/S, along with being able to trade with Gold.
But noooo, they had to be cheap and invent a region that's waterlogged... (10 routes full of water? Please...)
Yes of course I would love it if you could travel to other regions. It would definitely spice up the game and offer more challenges, that's for sure.

In the next DS game, it would be good to be able to go to each and every region, but this would be alot to ask of Nintendo. 4 different games shoved into one? I'd expect it to feeled rushed, and uncomplete. And think of all the trainers in the game! Sheesh, it'd be never ending... and could the DS card be able to hold all of those 4 games into one?

Despite the game being much expected, I do believe as soulmaster does - that it's just an idea, and even though it's a good idea, the technology that we currently have won't be able to hold all that data.
@Mean1: Oh yes, that would be awesome. But that would have to fit on one huge Trainer Card.

then why not make it for the wii, it could hold 4 games at once (look at the virtual concle) and they could use collosium/XD grathics as well
that would be cool

They CAN do it! I mean if you can put Super Mairo 64 on one WITH 25 more stars added, extra characters, Mini games and a few more levels, then Im more than positive they can put 4 worlds of pokemon on a DS card.
DNA, That is true either that or have like a double card like in Emerald once you get to the Battle Area You just select the one you want to go to. Like one Trainer card for each area that shows the stats for that only. Like how many times you likned in that area and battled. What time you beat the league in that area. Then there could be a 5th one that combines all card information into one (Not the bades however, they would saty on the other 4) so you can see what all you have done in the +300 hours it took you. Thats what I think

Aren't we getting a bit ahead of ourselfs?
Sure the managed to put in the extra stuff in SM64DS, but the extra stuff didn't add up to FOUR TIMES as much content.
And if Nintendo could fit that much on the Wii games, don't you think they would've by now?
EDIT: Oh, and I realized it would be more like 4.5 times as much since they'd have to add a bunch of new stuff to link the regions all together.

My thought was that the GBA slot can be used to hold a memory card with any necessary data when you move from "game to game" on different DS cards. You can expect it to be pretty expensive, as well as taking several years to complete.
The GBA game would move Trainer data and pokemon data, as well as any items.

just having a Pokemon game on the wii would be sweet, regardless of region, not like colleseum or gale of darkness but the traditional game in 3D. I would be lining up at the door for that game especially if they allowed you to run around with a Pokemon.

Now THAT would be sweet. Kinda like Yellow, but you can pick the poke.
3D also, not snagging (I always found snagging from a limited selection silly) like XD or Colosseum.
I always thought a game where all the Pokes were available would be cool too, even events (thought that'd be negative money for Nintendo).
And of course, wouldn't 4-player on one game (no linking with Wi-Fi needed) be awesome?
There are tons of ideas that'd work perfectly...

Maybe, eventually, in the end, they will make a game for a console that included all regions and Pokemon.

well as a few of you have mentioned about the memory space of the ds i would just like to point out that you are mistaken. the ds could support such a game, its just that nintemdo is there to make money, not to make us happy. they could roll it all into one right now but then the wouldn't be able to make as much money off of us. take PMD, that game came out like a month before d/p, they could have waited and got more pokemon on it from the new game. but they didn't. all i am saying is that the ds can handle it, its just that making such a game would hurt nintendo's profits greatly. and if you want an example: look at pokemon g/s/c those games had two reagions and they were mere game boy color games. not only that but they had a lot of the features that d/p has now: changing from day to night, moving pokemon, poke'gear. i mean g/s/c was better than r/s in some respects. think about it and you'll see.

How about making it into 2 segments for the Wii? That way info from one of the games will go into its sequel.

If this were to happen, i would see it happening as follows:
3 games with three different regions each:
RSE-Red, Silver, Emeald (bad choice of letters, i, know)
YGS- Yellow, Gold, Saphire
GCR- Green, Crystal, Ruby
this gives one "special" region to each copy, and allows for there still to be differences in pokemon apperances.
And it deffinatley could fit, a micro SD card can generally hold 2 gigs worth of data, and is small enough to fit in a ds cart... I know that this ISN'T how it works, but i'm just demoing how small memory really is.
Old regions coming back prolly isn't as much of a pipe dream as some of you are implying...if Nintendo once again cornered themselves off from addiing new pokemon to an old game (why do you think they made FR/LG) then the next game will prolly be in Johto (since kanto's been redone, hoenn's newer, and johto has many fans)
THey're just going to wait until the sales of the old games drop off again after the spike in sales from the pal-park.
oh, and all four regions IS a pipe dream, unless nintendo thought remakes wouldn't be profitable because of GTS/ pal-park, in which case they MIGHT as a very long shot release it as a third version of DP
the imbetween region stuff takes up no more space than a key item. you take a special pass to cannalave or snowpoint, and off you go to slateport, vermillion city , or Johto (sorry, i got into pokes in the GBA gen, want to try gSc, but haven't gotten it yet.)

Well, they might allow that traveling out of desperation or changes in creative/mechanical control.
I'm basing this on unsure things though, like an article stating the major reason for frlg was to reintroduce pokemon that had become unavailable in the advanced generation. All of the Johto pokemon are currently available, so no go with that angle.
That has been demand though, and they do already have almost 500 pokemon, so it may just be a matter of time. I'm certainly for it. I'd enjoy having more cities and stores and npcs available for my use. Especially something like multiple daycares. I could level pokemon up at the same time as breeding others, something I did fire red.
As long as the animation of changing areas was cancel able or very very short.

They should make an actual Pokemon game for the system. I mean not that the ones already on the system are fake but they just dont add up to the hand helds. All these are good ideas in my opinion.
