okay, it is 1 in tha AM and mom is asleep for work tommorow, so i plugged in some headphones so i could hear myself battle. It is FREAKIN SWEET theres all highs and mids, and even bass notes!!!! i am so surprised there are new parts to the battle theme you never heard before. and i have crappy headphones from the $1 store. i wonder what they would sound like on, maybe studio headphones?

I have some regular headphones aswell, and yea the sound seems different when you plug them in.
Maybe it's cause there's always some background noise around you when you're playing without them.

Nothing new, really. That actually applies to all audio files. They all have details which cannot be heard properly unless we make use of headphones.

I play all the time with headphones, up until I got a GBA SP (due to lack of headphone jack). Now I play with headphones whenever I can, and it's always so sweet; it makes good use of background notes.

I used (official Nintendo) headphones in my DS one time and afterward the sound wouldn't work without headphones for a while.
My guess is the headphone jack bent the connector pin in the DS too much, and the DS thought it had headphones plugged in when it really didn't.
It eventually went back to normal, but I haven't plugged any kind of phones in ever since.

I noticed that the other day I liked it much better and it had a surround sound feeling to it also.

i bought a pair of headphones for $20 that *not kidding when i say this* have the sound quality of a $75 pair. personally i love the champion music, so many different notes that you can actually hear! awesome!

Do you think it'd be any different for the advanced generation? I am playing with a SP, but if there are any changes (for the better), I'll get to a regular GBA, or maybe even GB Player/Colosseum.

yes, it would be better. the tiny speakers don't carry the bass notes. if you want the ULTIMATE sound experiance do what i did: I have 2 12'' subs in the trunk of my car, as well as upgraded mid and high range speakers. I also have a plug that goes from my stereo into my Ipod, usually. but the other day i decided to plug in my DS!!!! it was cool. you have not experienced pokemon until you've played at 30dB!!!!

Yea, and I didn't notice until JUST NOW that the clock on the DS startup screen ticks as the second hand moves.
Headphones really do make it better.

Gee, I never knew how cool Diamond sounded until I played it with headphones this half-term on the plane to Salzburg in Austria!
Heatran's cry consists of the normal croaking but there is also the soft sound of flowing magma in the background (you can hear it if you have the headphones on full volume!)

I don't know where my ear-buds are... However, I plugged my DS into my Computer speakers - So... AWESOME!! I watched (listened) to the intro music over and over and over... it sounds so cool!! Now I want to form a band to play the music...

Yeah, I love listening to the music for Spear Pillar and the music for the peak of Mt. Coronet with meh headphones on. They both sound more beautiful and mysterious than usual with the headphones.
I've also been listening to Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones sound room with headphones on. It sounded really cool. And now I can't stop listening to it like a CD Player

A fellow Fire Emblem fanatic! Yeah, I'm like that too, except I prefer the original Fire Emblem tracks. Headphones make the soundtracks to any game worth your while.

I have, but it's still too shrill for my tastes. Too defined. Although the quality very nice for a game; I think only Drawn To Life and Kirby: Canvas Curse are better from what I've seen so far.
