I'm just curious, what was the most difficult gym leader to beat for anybody??
EDIT:The toughest for me was probably..... oh.....probably Wallace because of his Ice Pokemon, I like to use my Blaziken. But when the Ice Pokemon have water attacks... it's kinda difficult.
(I think that's who I voted for...)

Believe it or not, Brawly was the hardest for me, took 3 tries to beat him.
EDIT: My reason is because no matter how much I train my Pokemon, he still beats me. I had to catch a Taillow and evolve him to Swellow, just to beat him. Also his Machop kept Critical Hitting me with Karate chop.

I think Liza & Tate's double power combo was tough.

I think it was norman for me. I kept on dieing at his first slaking. I finally got a gameshark and gave myself infinite TMs, and toxistalled him to death with a sableye.

Wallace.
I never carry an electric or grass type pokemon with me, But this time around in emerald I think that will change.

On Winona I only had a pretty strong and that was it. I ended up leveling up an electric team to level 26 and a to level 30 to beat that she had.

Norman, because without a fighting type, you'll get thrashed easily. That's why it pays to catch Shroomish in the early game, since it kills Roxxanne and Norman.
EDIT: Are the gym leaders you're referring to in R/S or Emerald?

If you've got a guidebook, you can actually skip Brawly because you don't need flash to get past Granite Cave.

My vote goes to T&L. I have tried umpteen times to beat Xatu and Claydol and the farthest I can get is defeating Xatu and that's it. EQ is a killer and i'm seriously considering a flying/levitating team with but not restricted to Pelipper, Duskull, Tropius, and Mightyena for good luck.
P.S. I play Emerald.

I also had a hard time due to my (hadn't evolved yet) being male and the having Attract and being female!
TIP: If you've got Marshtomp, don't use Mud Shot, use some water attack. Torkoal has high Defense but not as much in Sp. Def.

Yeah, but you need all 8 badges to get to the Pokemon League

I mean, you can beat up on him later, right? Like, you kill Wallace finally than pick on the poor Machop and Makuhita with a L40+ team, or you use him to train a freshly-caught ({bagon} was L25 when I caught him and my other team members were L40+).

still brawly is the hardest
i hate it when i dont have a hazer and he's gonna bulk up a lot
i can skip him but i dont do it ;p
Edit: Norman is easy, becaus eif you have a swampert with protect with you you can easily defeat his Slaking, and vigoroth isnt that strong. the only you may need ias a ether, leppa berry or elixer...

Against Vigoroth I used my because vigoroth's Attack isn't as 00ber as slaking. Plus, his Special isn't exactly godly either, so Faint Attack can't hurt much.
Against Slaking, using my Gyarados, it took like 4 lemonades!

I've always had trouble with Wallace's Milotic, or Winnona's Altaria, because Milotic always recovers before I can deliver the finishing blow, plus it knows Ice Beam, and I always have to skip ahead of Winnona to get a Snorunt or Sealeo to take out her Altaria, because it keeps beating my electric pokemon with Earth Quake, and I don't have anything to stand up to an Earth Quake attack

Most electric pkmn are fast so shouldn't you be able to attack first and KO Altaria? Unless you picked Magneton.
PS: Earthquake is one word.

Everytime I restart my Ruby Version I happen to get stuck in Wattson (magneton with Shock Wave) and Wallace (milotic with Ice Beam)....
