I wanted to open a shop...but I realized I should have some people help me out before I go throwing sprites out to people. So I'm gonna try some fusions and sigs, and if anyone has anything to point out, feel free to!
EDIT: The GOOD art is on pages 2 and beyond.
Here's my first ever sig:
So?

OK, this was my first fusion...sorry, I removed it because I now realize I couldn't stand it...it was a Raticate with a Skuntank tail for hair and Tropius wings, to make it worse it was sized up...now you happy you don't see it?

Firstly, don't double post if it is 10 minutes apart  just edit it in to the previous one...
The sig... Err, kind of bad the black background is very plain (and has a white strip at the end, there is just one repeated sprite, and the crown is very rough - chances are it was done it paint... you can't do decent sigs in paint... sorry  although if you must use sprites then plain backgrounds are a good idea if the sprite is the main focus.
The fusion... eesh not so good either firstly NEVER EVR USE JPEGS!!! Always use a .png so you don't get horrible compression lines. I assume this is in paint so I will leave the false transparency alone, but in other programs it is always better. Thene the actual fusion... it is a good [/i]idea[/i] however, NEVER SCALE SPRITES that means no stretching, and no making it bigger/smaller... it looks blocky and bad - each original pixel should be 1 pixel when it is finished if you are having trouble seeing it, just zoom in then you may want to consider recolouring the parts to a consistent colour scheme, which makes the sprite look a lot better and can disguise bad joins. Also, it is unlikely that someone will steal it, so leave out the pink nametag (as it is not hard to erase it if they did want to steal it anyway
Sorry about the criticism, but I have tried to make it constructive

You need to work on better backgrounds, and use pictures rather than sprites.

Here's some steps to follow before blazikndude comes in here and kills you.
1. GET GIMP! Get it, Get it, Get it before even thinking of opening a shop. I tried to make stuf with paint once and....well blazikndude did com and kill me.
2. Learn how to use it. In case you already have GIMP be sure to practice with brushes and other stuff. Sometimes the best brushes there are are ones you make yourself.
3. Always, ALWAYS save as .png.
4. Don't resize sprites EVER.
5. Download brushes from deivenart.com.
6. I suggest getting a job before starting a shop, I only didn't because there was not a lot of shops that I wanted to work at that did my kind of stuff.
Here's a good tutorial that Sentinal gave me when I was starting (I still am but I've come a ways ). http://forums.nintendo.com/nintendo/board/message?board.id=techsupport&message.id=606970

OK...
First of all I didn't try to do transparency on that morph (I also admit it is sorta freaky) I just gave it blue cuz I wanted to. And Dunparce, based on this terrible criticism I better go on that link...
Blazikendude...if you're reading this...PLEASE HAVE MERCY! DON'T KILL ME LIKE DUNSPARCE SAID YOU WOULD!!!

I think he left the cave (then fan art), he wouldn't actually kill you but um....

These are the worst things I've ever set my eyes on, EVERYTHING is wtong with thyem. You never resize sprites, you never use paint for sigs, you always do shades ect.
You screwed up everything on this one, trust me, nobody would ever let you in their shop unless they were 5 year olds with mental problems.

Yeah, *wince*. Seriously, get GIMP, tis awesome!

Unless his computer, like mine, can't use GIMP. Then he would have a problem, don't you think

Select file on the thing that has the buttons on it (brushes, eraser..) and new, then select diameters (800x800 gives you a nice big page) and ok. Make sure the zoom is at 100% or everything will be distorted.

No you'll get it, it took me a couple days to figure out how to do anything. Try computer searching for "gimp" click on the one that has the picture of a fox with a paint brush next to it.

Yeah, well I'm afraid I can't do this. I'm not going to risk my computer doing something weird just for this GIMP thing...If anyone else knows of something not GIMP or paint tell me.
Otherwise, I'll remain in my lottery business...shunned by some of the cruel people out there...Dunsparce, I'll give you 5 Psy$, just for being supportive...

Erm...
*cough*Private message*cough*
^^ Try using them
Back on topic...
If you are too scared to install GIMP then you are unlikely to try the other option (Slightly less legally )
So it's Paint for you!
Now despite Treeckomasters claim... it is hard to make sigs that look smooth and special effects are out of the question, basically while the wit can sometimes carry it through, graphically it just won't be as good as others
However there are many spriters ( not me though...) who use paint, and it is perfectly possible (though transparency is not possible) it just requires a lot more work, and complex fusions will be really hard...

Well Joey, I'm just gonna keep trying with paint. Like Treeckomaster, I will soon be good at this...you'll see! I'll keep posting several sigs, with less dull backgrounds (Btw the white bar came up cuz I didn't shrink the pic size enough...heh heh...)! And I'm gonna make some more fusions even though they'll probably end up abominations...
Now I am also trying:
~Inverts
~Ipods (maybe...)
~My own creations!
No matter how hideous they are. You can't stop me from spriting. For I will never give up! (Man that's cheesey...)
Oh yeah...here's my latest sig, of my own Shiny Pelipper in D/P.
It IS better right? The Background isn't plain. And here's a recolor, which I forgot to mention...
And here's my first Ipod too.
You like?

They are a bit basic, and remember a paint user's #1 rule:
Thou shalt save in jpeg shalt have there sprites come out bad
Just don't do it.
Anyways, 3.5 outta 10.

How do I not save it in Jpeg? "Thou must talk in itty bitty words for the Swampert to understand".
If Jimmy quit we need more good artists. So people...help me to be good artist please!
Though you gotta admit that Shiny Bird looks good. It's not all screwed up. And I wasn't given a big fat 0!
