i cant wait to see the jedi fall one by one...heh just hope this *bad guy wins* episode of star wars is as good as the best one of all:
EMPIRE STRIKES BACK
Yes it would be refreshing if the bad guys won for once. In many movies the bad guys come so close to winning, but they end up losing in the last second.

Well, back then it was blue screen. Now it's green screen, I suppose. Anyway, what they do is have the actors do their bit in front of a green screen, on a green floor, whatever, then later dudes on computers can go back and put any image or artwork or whatever onto the screen, so the actors can be anywhere. Saves a lot of setbuilding time.

Yes, but on the other hand, it looks cold, and loses all sense of authenticity. There's a famous story that says that George Lucas went to visit the set of Gangs of New York in Rome, Italy when it was filming (and for anyone who hasn't seen the movie, the sets are HUUUGE). George Lucas looked around a bit, turned to Martin Scorsese, and said "you know Marty, these things can be done with computers nowadays". And I kind of appreciate it that there are still some artists in Hollywood (like Mr. Scorsese, for example) that still use traditional sets and minimize the amount of CGI that's in their movies, simply to give it that authentic feel. In fact, the only CGI-driven movie I've ever seen that so seamlessly blends CGI with live action is The Lord of the Rings trilogy. In any other movie, it looks totally fake (and by the way, most of The Lord of the Rings was done in sets, and many of the special effects were practical, as in, in front of the camera - games with perspective, and use of models/minniatures, etc). But, I won't juge Star Wars Episode III before I see it. All I can say is that I hope it will be good.
By the way, I think there is quite a high chance that the bad guys will win, since Star Wars Episode IV starts on a pretty low note - the Empire is in power, and only a small, weak Rebellion is stirring. Episode III will definitely be dark, and, hopefully, will also end on a dark note.

Yep. I know now and I always refer to it as "Green Screen" because I only ever saw it on deleated scenes for Star Trek 10.

Star Wars.com revealed three new TV ads today, and here's a link to each of them (requires Quicktime 6, which, apparently, I now have ):
"Tragedy": My favorite of the new three.
"Dark Side Unleashed": Some new footage of Anakin and Obi-Wan's final duel. And I believe C-3PO is standing in a corridor on the Tantive IV . . .
"Teaser": Nothing really new here if you've seen the theatrical trailer.
Check them out! BTW, all the new merchendise hits shelves TOMORROW, so go out and buy an action figure or a T-shirt or something.
EDIT: Also, you guys GOTTA see this: Revenge of the Sith theatrical trailer . . . with 1337 subtitles! Be warned . . . the f-word is in there. Not spoken, but it is.
One more thing, thanks to Singin Hobo on gamewinners.com for bringing all of this to my attention. Hobo, you're a good guy.

PG-13 isn't like R, you know. People under 13 can see it. It's just suggesting that parents go with anyone who's not as mature as a 13 year old, which isn't saying much these days...

More TV spots posted on starwars.com, and here they are:
Jedi Action 1: Nothing really new here, just some narration and two or three new shots.
Jedi Action 2: Not bad at all.
Unite: Definitely designed with kids in mind . . . not very many frightening shots and even more narration than Jedi Action 1. It does, however, feature shots we haven't seen yet.
Also, if you're a hardcore fan, Starwars.com has been posting Webdocs regularly, the newest of which is up today and can be found here: Ten Gallons of Buildings. A list of all the Webdocs can be found listed vertically on the right side of the screen. I recommend "This Weapon is Your Life," if you like lightsabers, "C-3PO: His Moment to Shine," and "Becoming Obi-Wan." Check them out if any of the titles look intriguing or if you get bored.

Most of it's CGI about 10% of it's real 'acting', I'll still go and see it.

Now that I have mod power in this forum, I can officially make a rule about NO SPOILERS. If you must post something, use this tag: [color=#003E5E*]TEXT[*/color], minus the asteriks of course. It's transparent, and anything you write in there will have to be highlighted to be read.

SPOILER!! HIGHLIGHT UNDER TO READ!!

Anakin Skywalker is Chancellor Palpatine's grandmother!!
Consider the rule made. Break it and die.

w00t more news from a galaxy far, far away.
A Hero Falls: Check out this video with some pretty good shots from the movie (including some new ones) and music from the brilliant mind of John Williams. Also has a nifty little piece at the end that jumps back to The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones. Check it out.
Also, tickets are most likely on sale wherever you are. I got mine last Saturday (May 19, 12:01 AM, fool). Get off your butts and get 'em!

Some more kick-a** music from the genius himself, John Williams. Movie was great too.

Is it just me, dragonfan, or are the fight clips they show of Anakin and Dooku reminiscent or Vader and Luke in Return of the Jedi?

Yeah, that part kind of worries me - the room they're sitting in, and the way the fight is set up, is very reminiscent of the climactic fight in Return of the Jedi. The Emperor's chair is the same, and outside the window there is a space battle - exactly like in Return of the Jedi. I'm personally kind of worried by this. I expect to see a completely new movie from George, and not a re-make of Return of the Jedi, but with Wookiees instead of Ewoks. We'll have to wait and see.
Also, it's interesting that they're already selling tickets where you live, paper. Over here, as with any movie, they won't start selling tickets before a week in advance. I do expect to see the earliest screening possible on Thursday, May 19th.

ROTJ . . .
ROTS . . .

Looks to me like Palpatine just isn't very original. But I doubt ROTS will be a ROTJ rehash; in ROTS, Luke didn't go crazy and kill everyone.
