Surf is also tremendously useful against Tate and Lize, since it is super effective against Lunatone and Solrock, and can hit both targets at once.

Can I get a Salac Berry anywhere in Emerald without an E Reader or an event? I think I heard it can be stolen using Thief from the Battle Tower?

Using Thief in the Battle Frontier only steals the opponent's item for the duration of the battle. Once the "you have won" screen appears, the item disappears into the ether.
iirc, the only stat-boosting berry you can get in Emerald is Liechi, at the island with the Wynats. Salac *might* be on XD, I'm not sure really.

Petaya, Salac, Ganlon, and Apicot berries can be obtained through Colosseum by buying them with Battle Points (or whatever the Colosseum points are)

If you can find a pokemon where you are at (I think it works in caves and water also), then you will enter a battle with a wild pokemon when you use sweet scent

Whenever I start up my Sapphire version, i get this message:
The Game wrote: The internal battery has run dry. The game can still be played. However, time-based functions will no longer occur.
Do the Shoal Cave tides fall under "time-based functions"? On the Psypoke main site, it says that the Shoal Cave should be at high tide right now, but it's at low tide (quarter after 11 here). Does the fact that the Lilycove lottery has stopped fall under this as well, or is that just because the berry glitch has come into affect?
I am told by a scientist in the Mossdeep space center that they have had "Successful Launch no. 9999". Shouldn't it go up, starting from 1, rather than stay stationary at no. 9999. Does this have anything to do with the "time-based functions" or berry glitch?
Please Help!
s S Out!

Yes, all of those are "time-based functions." I think that that is the "berry glitch," meaning that it should be fixable, although I've never had the berry glitch, so some confirmation on that would be nice.

Although I haven't had the berry glitch either, I think it's different. The Berry Glitch can be fixed by trading with FRLG, if I'm not mistaken. The Internal Battery problem can only be fixed by sending it to Nintendo, because it means that the battery that powers the clock needs to be replaced.

I think this message appears after you catch Missingno. How you catch Missingno is not in my mind.
Also, my Pokemon Emerald is in {missingno} mode right now. The Berry Master and the Lottery Lady keep their schedule, but when I win the lottery, I don't win anything. A creepy fact is that the berries never grow, the tide never goes down, and the clock doesn't run. How does the BM keep giving me berries if this is the case?

The Missingno glitch is fixed in 3rd gen.

sounds something like the berry glitch, except that's supposed to be fixed in Emerald.

Try following the Regi guides on the main site. Also, don't forget that there are differences between (and thus different guides for) Ruby/Sapphire and Emerald.

Um...
seriously....
the nature thing in Emerald always make me restart my Pokemon game 1000 times even with the same starter..... (aka Treecko)
So the question is....
Should my normal Pokemon Team be the same team as the Battle Frontier Team or should they be actually different....?

I like breeding - like crunch on sceptile.
Most cases - good IVs, restarting EVs, more moves, etc. require breeding it is completely your choice, though

Yes, he was replying to your post. He's suggesting that the best movesets (IE, those suitable for the BF) usually require breeding, either for Egg moves, natures, or DVs.
I would suggest raising the two at least somewhat separately. I'm planning on training exactly one BF team ever, but I'll have restarted Emerald at least twice, to get all the starters, by the time I'm done (I have multiple games, and trade between them). Some of my BF team members may be part of my regular team at some point, but most won't.
