Im new to the techniques of EV Training, and I want to know how many EVs you can actually get per wild Pokemon battle.
Heres my question:
If my Mewtwo is holding Power Lens (+4 Sp.Atk EVs) and I defeat a Golduck (+2 Sp.Atk EVs) while Mewtwo has Pokerus, how many EV's will I be awarded at the end of the battle?
Basically, how would all of that be added up?
Power Lens = +4
Golduck EV's = +2
Pokerus = x2
Total: 12?

Do I have the right concept, or am I adding up something wrong? (Do I have any of it right? Im new, I just want this cleared up before I actually start EV training my Mewtwo.)

Mod Edit: Aye, you can have this moved. However, please do not double post, use the Edit button instead.

And, to my knowledge, the EVs obtained before pokerus are unaffected.

Sorry to bump but I'm not sure about PowerItems. Do they give you 3 EVs (1 for the battle + 3 = 4) or do they give you 4 (1 for the battle + 4 = 5)?

Nah, it's 4 EV's added onto the 1 or 2 you already gained. So fighting a Gyarados with a Power Brace equipped would be 2 Attack EV's + 4 from the Brace. And then the Pokerus bonus is multiplied, meaning 6 x 2, equalling a whopping 12 EV's from one fight.

Man, Diamond and Pearl made it real easy to EV train. :P
