I'm thinking about what Special Sweeper to get for my team. I'm leaning toward Gengar, and I know two other viable ones: Gardevoir and Alakazam. Non-legendaries. Are there any good spec. sweepers out there? My team is, as I plan it:
Dusknoir
Metagross
Lucario
Milotic (I'm looking at Omastar with a side eye)
Salamence? Aerodactyl? Some dragon-style pokemon.
{Spec. Sweeper}
As you can see, I already have both a psychic (Metagross) and a ghost (Dusknoir), though Dusknoir I don't expect to use for his Ghost-type power moves. I'm planning him as utility/sponge.
As said before, I'm leaning toward Gengar. However, suggestions completely welcome.

Hmm... Special Sweeper...
For one I would choose Jynx *Dont ask why *
Basically for it's Sp. Stats & Spd.
Also, here's the moveset I use for my Jynx;
Jynx @Leftovers
Trait:Oblivious
-Ice Beam
-Lovely Kiss
-Fake Tears
-Psychic
Otherwise, there are many other Sp. Sweepers better than Jynx
Just a suggestion

You could also use Drifblim which could be a sp. sweeper and baton passer.
Drifblim
Shadowball
Baton pass
Thunderbolt
Calm Mind
Or you could use PorygonZ which i've become a huge fan of when i saw it's massive Sp Atk.

I'm hoping for something that's effective against all the basic elements - fire, water, ice, grass, etc (well, not not-very-effective).
Hmm.. Jinx isn't bad... I don't think it matches up to Alakazam, though, and it would die oh-so-quickly if it didn't instant-kill. Not that good against fire.
Porygon-Z seems better than Alakazam by a decent amount. Except for the Normal Type flaw, this would be awesome..
Driftblim is more of a damage taker than a spec. sweeper, I think. I have one somewhat superior, Dusknoir.

Hmm this might soung kind of stupid but its my style, add another dragon, since they have the least amount of disadvantages, and wider movesets
Dragonite @ Choice Band
Fire Punch
Surf
Dragon Claw
Dragon Dance/Physical attack?

Dragonite is a better Physical-Sweeper than a special sweeper. Plus, double weakness against Ice. I'd use it otherwise. And, apparently, It's not approved in competitive gaming, so I don't want to use it .
EDIT: Oh, and how good is Will-o-wisp? I heard of it, but it doesn't have a set damage value and I want to plan out a few things.

The fact that PorygonZ is a normal is a good thing. This means it gets stabbed Hyper beam and psychic gets rid of fighting. Nasty Plot/Calm mind for boosting it's sp atk. Thunder Bolt or Ice beam depending on the one you like.

Ehh.. Hyper Beam makes for an instant-dead sweeper. And it's not that fast. It could kill something that's slow quickly enough, but otherwise it has one shot of it - and if it doesn't kill, it's dead. Most with low spec.def commonly used are rock or ground or steel. Two shots is enough for almost anything to beat it. A sweeper needs to be faster. Psychic isn't strong enough of a move to instant-kill a fighting pokemon, and since most fighting are faster anyway, one dynamic punch or close combat would tear it apart.
Nasty Plot/Calm Mind only when you have the time, and because of the lack of healing of this pokemon, it doesn't have that time. Thunder Bolt and Ice Beam are nice, though.

No, he's more of a tank/toxi-tank like thing. If anything, he'd be physical, he has horrid Sp.Atk
Metagross
I'd say he'd be more of physical too, but his Sp.Atk is good enough I suppose.
Lucario
I think that's your best choice here, he can learn lots of types of moves, including the ever so scarce special type fighting moves. However I'm not all too sure of his Sp.Atk stat, but I know it's at least above average.
Milotic
This is more so a special sponge in my opinion, but I suppose it could side as a special sweeper, but is lacking speed, yet it's "sponginess" can make up for it (I'm looking at Omastar with a side eye)
Salamence?mebbe Aerodactyl?Good physical, not special I'd think. Probably a really good physical sweeper, in fact Some dragon-style pokemon.
{Spec. Sweeper}
Out of those, I don't think any of them are all too good. I'd go with Gengar, if he fits with your types of your team. However, Lucario would be next, then Milotic.OH GAWD!! I thought these were the things you were thinking of having as a special sweeper!@!@!@! Well, in that case, I suppose you should go with Gengar...
On a side note...

Now that I'm seeing it posted again makes me a bit more suspicious...

The five up there are my other pokemon, not viable candidates for being spec. sweepers. I know their skillz.

I think he means he's "eyeing" it. As in looking twoards possibly getting one in the future. Or he likes things with eyes on their sides, yet Omastar has them on the front I thought...

Yes, I meant I was eyeing it... Milotic is becoming a cliche. Maybe a Lapras or Omastar instead.

There you go, 6 options to have the Sp. Sweeper of your team, I think you´ll like at least one of them.

I already have a water type - Omastar, Lapras, Milotic, I'll choose later. Gorbyss has low spec. attack anyway, compared to some others - I might as well use Lucario.
Gardevoir is nice, but is somewhat slow compared to some other Spec. Sweepers.
Togekiss... I like it. I don't think I'll choose it, but it's in the top 5 Spec. Sweepers I've seen.
Mismagius is fast, but it has relatively low spec. attack, compared to pokemon like Alakazam, Gardevoir, and Gengar. And it's slower than first and third of those, anyway. And I'm planning on incorporating some of those utility moves into my Dusknoir.
Roserade... Eh... It has nice stats, but the grass type is susceptible to too many popular types - fire is practically a standard in most groups, and flying, most people have two of.
So far, I'm still debating between Alakazam and Gengar. They have better spec. attack/speed than almost all of these, as well as good move sets, though Gengar is somewhat more... exotic.

Well I surprisingly have never fought someone with an Alakazam so I can't comment although I've heard how good it is. What I can tell you is that my boyfriend has always used a Gengar and it's always rocked. (b^_^)b

I suggest gengar with the moveset suggested. It may have 5 less base sp atk than alakazam but it covers more types and gets STAB sludge bomb and shadow ball. I'm still sad you didn't pick PorygonZ but it's your decision.

I'll try Porygon-Z later, but since there's more people commenting on Gengar and praising it, and because I like Ghosts, I'll go with that for now. I may replace one of my attack sweepers with Porygon-Z later. Thanks .

The problem with that Gengar is that it has all attack moves. If the opponent begins using moves that beef up Sp. Defence you're up a creek without a paddle.

Hmm.. Nasty Plot? Oops, can't learn that, sadly. Calm Mind, in that case. Instead of Thunderbolt. Plus, Psychic can reduce spec. defense.
