I'm having major issues catching Azelf, I have gotten it down to 1 or 2 hp and paralyzed and thrown about 30 ultra balls and more great balls trying to catch it, but over half the time it breaks out immediately. Any ideas for what I can do to improve my chances of catching the little pest?

Use dusk balls. And time balls by turn 30. (aside from being more effect they are cheaper than ultra balls.)

Took me like 4 minutes total to travel to and catch Uxie and Azlef using a Dark ball for one and a time ball for the other.
Should work fine. Also I didn't paralyze I used hypnosis with a Bronzong, since they are x4 resistant to psychic.

try using a dark type pokemon, which is immune against psychic, that u can teach false swipe to... maybe like sneasel... that will 100% make its life to 1HP then juz keep throwing as many ultra balls... it took me about 20 for azlef and uxie it would've been easier if i had made it sleep... but my pokemon dont know any sleep moves

obviously putting it to sleep works much better than paralyzing it...

Mesprit: Master Ball. N/A.
Uxie: Got down to red zone, put to sleep, one Ultra Ball.
Azelf: On a lark, I threw a quick ball at the very beginning. *click*.

Honestly, I had more problems catching a Murkrow then either of them. I mean, I did have to restart my game once or twice, but just because of critical hits knocking them out. No stat changers either, once I got them down to about one HP they each took only about three Ultra balls.

Use uxie. Right away, amnesia it all the way up. It also has the future sight/ yawn combo, doind damage and putting it to sleep. Dusk balls and timer balls work wondors here, but I caught mine with ultras. I had to catch uxie first before I could catch it.
