ok, in r/s, I had a party of zigzagoon/linoones. I recently have been carrying a Meowth around with me, but it's picking up different (and not exactly desired) items, such as Rawst berry and TM10 (Hidden Power)
Anyway, my question is if the old items (like PP up, Nugget, Etc.) are still attainable via pickup, or if they're replaced by these "new" items. Also, either way, I'd like to know what else i can expect to pick up.
thanks

I haven't got any good items either. Just berries and stuff. Kinda disappointing, but I haven't found and berry bushes. Do they first appear on the Sevii Islands?

I think that in fr/lg there are no berry bushes...

There have to be. They have the Berry Crush game. They better be somewhere...

Wow, that sucks. I have Fire Red but I'm waiting for gameshark codes to come out so I can use my friend's gameshark to get the two starters that I won't choose. Probably a L5 Mew to train later also. I hope the codes come out before my exchange period stops, because rarely gameshark can permenantly screw up your game. I do all the necessary sharking before that 45 day period.
As for the berries, it's possible that if you trade a Zigzagoon/Linoone over from R/S that they'll pick up those items. I'll get back to this topic when I start playing my Fire Red.

I've gotten Berries 1-8 and The special ones you get from Berry Master in R/S. Stardust, Star Piece, Pearl, Big Pearl, Nugget, Rare Candy, PP Up and TM10.
I also have another question: Does it matter what level your Pickuper is? I have a LV.68 Linoone, and when I train my other pokes, after about 2-5 battles it gets an item. But on my other game, I have a Lv. 14 Meowth and it takes a long time to pickup an Item.
I was going to start a new topic on this, but I thought I'd just post it here.
The earlist you can get a berry is to the right of Pewter City, and random routes. I also found 3 in the garbage cans on the S.S Anne (where the Great Ball was in RBY)

Pickup's chances are pretty low, and it's personally easier to have a full party of pickuppers for the sole sake of gathering items...

You find berries with the itemfinder, they are dark patches on the ground.

Yeah I found those out easily,
there are alot of them, sometime i'll list them on here.
Isn't it strange that the ones in Berry Forest come back?

Yeah it takes a long time to JUST GET ITEMS,
Though you're dead if a tough trainer wants to battle, when you have them on your team.
But I usally just leave Ziggy (Named him Zigmund) on my team while I train my pokes (Currenty training my Shiny Sandslash).
Isn't it strange how Ziggy's main purporse is Items? I mean they have Pickup, Covet and sometimes have Berries attached to them.
I'm also thinking it may be something with Happiness for the rate.
Isn't it odd how Ziggy Picks up items so fast? And he has max Happiness right now.
And the Meowths in the other game, Happiness is extremely low.
Hopefully my list of what items you can get helped answer your original question.

Is the chance of a pokemon with the pickup ability greater at picking up an item in the water or the land?
