You basically go to the events and they give you rare pokemon like Mew and Deoxys. |

In case you think the Nintendo Events is something obtainable in-game or something, they're not. Nintendo Events are sort of like carnivals which Nintendo organise, and they are typically only organised in Japan and the United States. If you don't live in those areas, it's unlikely that you will be able to get to any Nintendo Event anytime soon.
