Soory if this has already been asked. If it has, please direct me to where it is. Anyway, my friend's official copy of LeafGreen has three strange eggs that are called 'bad eggs'. I don't know much about them, but could someone tell me how they're formed, how to get rid of them and what they do to the game? I know for a fact that my friend has these eggs on his game, I've seen them for myself. He says that he traded with another friend who used cheat codes. He also says that the 'bad eggs' deleted three of his Pokemon.

Any info would be really appreciated, okay? I've told my firend that I'd get back to him on the subject.

I've had that happen to me. Just let them sit in a PC and they should hatch into whatever your friend used a cheat code on. Example: 99 rare candies.

I got a Sapphire cartridge from Ebay, and when i loaded it up it had heaps of 'unobtainable' legendaries, heaps of pokemon caught at level 40 in areas that you'd never find them (all caught with masterballs) and a bad egg... i figured it was hacked with GS or AR, so i just started a new game over the top.

Yes. Bad eggs are the product of Gameshark/Action Replay. They usually happen when you enter a code a bit wrong (that's what happened to me).

I've carried a bad egg around for a while and nothing's happened. Now the two that I have are sitting in the bottom of one of my PC boxes...

The story of Bad Egg: ( )

The bad egg shall appear randomly when you use action replay / another cheat system.
The Bad Egg carries PKRS (Doubles EVs earned in battle) and PKRS shall spread to the rest of your party over time.
Since you are playing LG though, PKRS shall not stop(better word anyone?) since time does not exist on those games, so you'll have to trade to RSE to make it dissapear(again, better words anyone?)
Whatever you do, do not make it hatch using a cheat system, the conciquences could be fatal... (I think)
Once you have PKRS on all pokemon that you want it on, release the eggs so that they don't haunt you.

^ That's about it.

EDIT:: If they're unreleasable, trade them to a save file which has nothing to live for and start a new game over it, I done that once lol.
(And you don't have to release them unless you're paranoid over them destroying the game over time)

Really? Nothing happened? I had it happened and when it hatched it said "You got 99 Rare Candies!"

What's really strange though is that my friend didn't use a cheat code/device. His friend must have used one and one of the Pokemon that his friend traded must have caused this weird bad EGG thing. I know that he didn't trade the eggs, so how did the bad EGGS appear?

A glitch could have been transfered from 1 game to another; Or it could have appeared totally randomly, though the chances of that are slim to none. Though some claim it has happened to them, but it could be lies. but throughout old age it could happen I guess...
(Correct me if I'm wrong)

It can't be old age. His copy of LeafGreen is only about a year old, and besides, I've never had any glitches on my 5-year old copy of Gold, so I doubt the old age theory. I think that the cheat code thing is what happened. I still need to know though... how does the bad EGG spread the PokeRus to other Pokemon? Also, I know that the PokeRus is beneficial, but my friend doesn't like glitches.

PKRS won't spread in LG/FR, but it will lsat forever, unlike in RSE.
If you want it to spread, trade the bad EGG and your PKMN to R/S/E, and it will eventually spread, once it spreads to all PKMN in your party, trade them back to LG and the pokemon will have everlasting PKRS.

Okay, I know that this is off-topic, but I don't want to start a new thread...
I traded with my friend a while ago, before he reported the badeggs. In Nintendo events, can they detect if you have ever traded or come in contact with a game that's traded with a game that's been sharked or ARed, even if you delete the cheat, or it's effects? I really need to know, because I've traded with my friend a couple of times, but I've never kept his Pokemon, I just bred new ones. If Nintendo can detect it, then my whole carts are a load of stinking useless rubbish...

We do know that Nintendo have ways to check if you have used cheats before, but we're not sure what can be classified as cheating. As such, having traded badeggs might or might not disqualify you from official Nintendo Events.

If you are so concerned, perhaps you can reset a few games, and replay the game legitimately.

...and recapture my breeding Dittos, find all the Pokemon that were in my Emerald squad and start breeding all over again. Oh, and waste all those hours I spent on the Battle Frontier. Thanks for the advice, sNOw, but:

a. I myself haven't cheated, nor has my friend.

b. The only thing that I have from his game on any of my games are Pokemon that I bred from his ones, and I have traded back his Pokemon.

c. They never have those events in Britain, so I don't think that it matters.

Bad eggs can't be traded. It is a placeholder. It can't hatch normally. If you tried to use cheat codes to hatch it. The game may freeze.

would they really hatch into those?

So you actually get these stuff from action replay? Would they do that?
