Nice picture of the four seasons; I especially love the winter one, because I like the snowman
I think the seasons should be there mainly for aesthetic appeal. It might get too complicated if each season has too many effects, so the seasons should only affect a few things in the game, such as the availability/rarity of certain Pokemon, and other more significant stuff like that, instead of stuff like getting frozen more often, etc.

I would love seasons the more realistic the better. I miss Night and Day.

It would be best if seasons could be toggled on/off in the options menu. Of course, this would require each Pok

I had the idea that certian pokemon types level up faster and with better ev's during specific seasons. But the only thing that would do would be to make every one only train their pokemon at a certain time, greatly slowing the game flow. Bleach.

this is a genius idea!!! it is possible it can happen....
you say that many people will get tired of waiting for the seasons to change. but that shows that these people will want to hurry up and beat the game. the whole pok

I think it is all a wonderful idea and would make the game last more than 15 hours. The weather ideas are cool, too. You could have rain in the spring, sun in summer, sand in fall (?), and hail in winter. Of course, it could turn on and off, and not be in all locations. And you can have it so like in winter, you can have little snowflakes fall, etc. And maybe small ponds can freeze so you can skate on them. Maybe they'd dry in the summer? And have more ponds in the spring? (Which you should be able to run into pond Pokemon- it's annoying having to wait to get Surf or a decent rod to get a Water Pokemon...

I agree. The Pokemon should only become more popular in their specific seasons, not to disappear in their 'bad' seasons.

Maybe some of the in-game trainers could change their outfits and Pokemon during the different seasons? Also, night and day could return with certain trainers not being fightable at certain times of the day! Off-topic, anyone remember a game for the GBC called Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons? It had seasons in it that affected the game. The only difference is that you could actually control the seasons in that game!

something to solve the long waits is hotels you go inside and the in-game clock is put forward 1 day for every ... money you pay
does kinda ruin the idea though

Personally, I think seasons would rock hard. I know some people are against them affecting gameplay, but I think that would be cool too. I mean, I don't think that Nintendo would make it so extreme as to alienate anyone, since that's bad PR (and more importantly, less money), but making certain Pok

I think that all these ideas are very good ones, however I think that we're all overlooking one possibly vital detail.
The Pokemon games are originally thought out and programmed in Japan, which lies in the Eastern Hemisphere. As a result, the month/ season coorellation that we're all used to in the West would not be the one that would be presented in the game itself. Our winter is their summer, remember, and vice-versa.
The only possible way that I could see to prevent this problem would be an option to toggle Eastern/Western and Northern/Southern Hemisphere seasonal patterns.

Maybe when you do New Game it asks where you live Northern or Southern.
I think the idea of Pokemon more common in it's season and not less common in it's opposing season is a good idea, but I don't think it will happen

...Huh. Whaddya know? We all forgot about that.
I like the "where do you live?" idea, but this idea was complicated enough. Oh well, here's to hoping we see a feature like this somehow anyway.

We've already dealt with the DST Option, Seasons can't be that hard...especially since the DS has an internal clock and calendar.
I just hope that you can use Wi-Fi to trade across the globe...that way, it should only take around half-a-year to get all the "seasonal" Pok

The seasons idea is very neat. ^^ We could run around in the tall grass and colorful leaves would float everywhere in the fall. But to the Pokemon only being avaliable in different seasons isn't a good idea. With 350 + Pokemon already, and more coming in the new generation, it would be a lot harder to catch every one. The idea of only their rarity changing would be okay, though.
Also, living in different hemispheres would not be as much of a problem if the seasons changed each week. Personally, I don't think that there will be seasons for Diamond and Pearl, but it would be dang awesome if they did.

That would be really cool but I don't like the thought of not getting a pokemon at this time and have to wait till later on. For example I can't get a single caterpie and have to wait for it for and entier month. So I'd rather stay with the day night feater unless the season thing would come and go faster. Like by hours not weeks.

Seasons is a great idea. It doesn't matter when I catch them either. I think they should stick with the seasons for as long as they last, and change. It makes it seem real.

If seasons don't affect the rarity of pokemon, the go right ahead but if it did then it would be neatly impossible to catch pokemon sometimes. I could change the battle style but not the rarity. That's what night and day are for.

First of all, do not backseat-mod. Secondly, this is only minor necromancy since the last post was posted a month ago. Thirdly, while seasons will not be present in Pearl/Diamond, it's fine to continue discussion about how seasons can be introduced in future seasons.

I think the seasons are great ideas but im very impatient and cna't wait until it changes to get the Pokemon I want but it would be a good idea to have different towns that the seasons change and are always different seasons

It'd be okay, but I'd prefer it if there was a place (Like the safari zone) that provides the Pokemon you can't get in the current season, at a lower level.
