Say youve just had LOADS of tests at work or school and you come back, tired, hungry, moody, what music cheers you up or makes you less moody?
Alternate Rock helps for me or any randomly jolly music.

Coldplay always manage to cheer me up, as do some Blood, Sweat & Tears songs. They're so tranquil and soft, they always manage to put me in a good mood. Some Beatles songs, especially the ones on Abbey Road, have the same effect on me: Something, Oh! Darling, I Want You (She's So Heavy), Here Comes The Sun, Because, etc...

Actually, Mulan's "I'll Make a MAn Out of You"...
Also, something as corny as Bryan Adams', Sting's and Rod Stewart's "All for One": the song was playing when I declared to my girlfriend. Too bad I can't exactly remember where it was... And I'm not sure "declared" is the word you guys use. But the song is pretty good by itself.
Funny thing is, neither song makes it into my top 10 favourites...

Depends on my mood.
Bands are Evanescence (Yah), Avril Lavigne, and Green Day. Some random songs mixed in, but yah.
Edit: The song "Bright Eyes" from the movie Watership Down is pretty ^_^ It helped me get un-frustrated. (Trying to do a Treecko slide puzzle for an hour...gah.)

When I'm feeling sad I usually play a song by Weird Al, and when I'm mad I usually listen to Red Flag by Billy Talent.

I usually listen to Pantera, Rammstein, Led Zeppelin, and some others to pump me up.
When I want to relax, I listen to some Pink Floyd, DJ Shadow, some Juno Reactor, and Modest Mouse. Deltron sometimes helps me relax too.

Well most things that make me melo are classical music. Most of the classical music I listen to will change me to a nice mood. Most of the time when I'm getting pumped or mad I will listen to Rap/Hip-hop,and I listen to rock sometime when I'm bored. What really melo's me out is when I read.

Most Janne da Arc songs, especially the ballads; perhaps some of Field of View's songs as well, and some of McFly's songs too. Some examples are Janne da Arc's Heaven's Place, Will ~chizu ni nai basho~ and I'm So Happy; McFly's All About You, Easy Way Out and No Worries; Field of View's Kono machi de kimi to **** and Oozra He... yeah don't worry if you know none of these songs; it's normal

Bon Jovi: Someday I'll Be Saturday Night
It's infectiously postive.

Lol I posted in the Music Forum.
Usually when I'm tired or moody or whatever, I'm too lazy to get out a CD, so I just turn on the radio and listen to whatever song is on; if I don't like it, I just change the station.

Usually some Iron Maiden, Red Hot Chili Peppers, KISS, Rush, Queensryche, whatever i feel like, but as for a specific song, that would be either:
Infinite Dreams
Hallowed be thy Name
Running Free
(all by Iron Maiden)

Marc Cohn - Walking in Memphis
The song itself is beautiful, but for me especially that song just makes me feel better, no matter what the situation. Maybe it's because that song was popular when I was little, and I associate it with happy memories of childhood. Whatever the reason, I just love that song.

I really like Franz Ferdinand, so any of their songs cheer me up just because they're so good. That or Colplay; their mellow happiness is contagious.

Franz Ferdinand, but for a specific song I'd have to say it'd be "Hey Jude" ^^;;

It depends on HOW frustrated I am. If it's not very bad, I usually play Suo-Gan-I wonder why I suddenly can't remember how to spell that!?-aka Welsh Lullaby. If I'm in a really bad mood, I listen to Chronic Future "Time & Time Again".

a few specific songs that chill me out are:
Bat Out of Hell
You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth ( Hot Summer Night )
Paridise By the Dashboard Light
Not A Dry Eye In the House
All by Meatloaf ( yeah! ).
apart from that i get happier listening to anything Genesis, Meatloaf, Pink Floyd, most U2, most White Stripes, anything off of Platnim Gold Giutar Legends or Irish folk music ( ).
basically progessive / rock.

Those of you that watch Inuyasha probably have heard the show's very first ending theme, My Will. Well, that is pretty much my favorite song, and it never fails to pick me up when I'm down.

I'd have to say Survive by Rise Against. Or Swing Life Away. The first song is about how just because you "life for you's been less than kind" doesn't mean you can sit around moping all the time. Well, to me it sounds inspirational. The latter is about being happy even though you don't have a lot. "We get by just fine here on minimum wage." I like them both a lot.
Or anything upbeat from No Use for a Name, like, Not Your Savior.
Or love songs, like For Fiona or International You Day, or basically any song by NOFX. Especially Jeff Wears Birkenstocks.

Funny you should ask, I've noticed over the past few years that music tends to be what that alters my mood more than anything else.
Generally, the new stuff by the band Lifehouse (from the new self-tilted CD, I mean) tends to cheer me up, despite the somber attitudes of a lot of their songs. I guess when I listen to it, it makes me happy because there's somebody out there sadder than me . Also, a lot of Beatles music makes me happy, along with a lot of McCartney's boppy solo stuff.

Almost anything from my 'Cheesy Songs' file; like 'I'm a Believer' by the Monkees or 'Build Me Up Buttercup' by the Foundations, lol. Fun and random times...
Also, some Bon Jovi songs.
(Usually I just love rock music).
