Since The Rating Center's getting crowded, and something like this has been suggested by a few members, this is a rating center only for contest Pok

Come on guys. We need more members for the Rating Team. Anyone with Pokemon Contest experience is allowed to apply for becoming a member. Lol, I feel so lonely .

I don't really do contests just to get the ribbons or whatever, usually I go with my Pokemon just for fun. I've never trained any Pokemon just for the contests. So that means I can only give some advice here and there, but I'm not qualified enough to rate teams.

I have a swellow that wins lots of cool contests, but swellow is a basic cool poke. Almost every move it learns is cool.

Well, I have history in contests but not on Psypoke. But if you'll except me, then I'm in.

Yes, most likely if you say you have experience in contests that will be sufficient. Just PM me, and hopefully somehow we can liven up this thread, considering no one has posted any contest pokemon at all yet.

Ok, I'm going to try to get this started. Here's my standard Kyogre:
Max Beauty Blue Scarf
Surf
Ice Beam
Hydro Pump
Water Spout
I know. Not a wide range of moves. And I am struggling with Master Rank, but I creamed the other competetion.
Max Cool Red Scarf
Howl
Tackle
Scary Face
Crunch/Bite
Two sets of combos here. Howl gives you a star, and Tackle gives it its Combo. Yes, yes the other two are Tough, but they do well as a combo.
P.S. Upon deciding whether to get Crunch or Bite, it would depend on how lazy you are. Mightyena learns Crunch at 47! (Forty something!) Bite comes along at 13. (but then you have to get Scary face at 32.)
So pick between raising him to either 32, or 47.

I just won all "Cool" contest with the following:
@ red scarf
- Aerial Ace
- Double Team
- Quick Attack
If you are first up, use "aerial ace" first, then go "double team" - "quick attack" (it's a combo, so you should get extra hearts) twice. If you are not first up do the combo first see were you end up, if you are on top do aerial ace and then the combo again.
This won me all cool contests.
Now I have also won all "Beauty" contests with @ blue scarf.
It had the following moves:
-Rain Dance
-Hydro Pump
-Hail
-Blizzard
Rain Dance and Hydro Pump are a combo and the other two are a combo too. The only problem is I didn't get my picture painted. What's up with that????????
EDIT: Nevermind I got the painting now.
And I have a new winner:
@ pink scarf
- Water Sport
- Mud Sport
- Water Gun.
- any move
The first three are all in a combo so you can command total attention with them. First move either Water Sport or Mud Sport and then any of the other two make a combo.........

Appeal combos occur if a move seems to follow the Pokemon's previous move well, then that move earns double points. Here's an example, in a beauty contest:
(Audience Excitement: 4)
Torchic uses Sunny Day!
(You first get 6 points because the audience's excitement is high, then get another 6 for using a Beauty move when excitement is high, totalling up to 12)
Next round:
Torchic uses Flamethrower!
(Flamethrower gives 4 points, and since it's a combo with Sunny Day, tack on 4 more points, and since it's a Beauty move, add 1 more, for a total of 9.)
Total: 21 points in 2 rounds

Where do you get those scarves? I I ever found was the silk scarf, and that just ups normal-type moves....
If you find them in the battle hall/toweer/thingymajigger that would make sense, but I honestly am not sure

By use of Pokeblocks you first have to max out a Pokemon's Looks. Then, in Slateport city you will somewhere find a Fan Club. There put the "maxed" Pokemon in the lead spot. By talking to him, he will give you a scarf depending on your maxed stat.
Red=Cool
Blue=Beauty etc.
Dr. Doubleduel and I are creating a guide on this which shall be posted up shortly. Which reminds me, I have a lot of work to do...
Hope I've helped!

It's a very good set, one that I used to use myselves. You may want to swap WoW for Ember/Fire Blast, for the extra points.
