ok so... im really steamed now.... cuz after about a month of bustin my ass off tryin to get through colosseum, i was playing last night for about 4 hours (while flipping through some tv shows) and i went to save the game and it said that the data on the memory card was corrupt!

Can.... somebody... explain.... this... to... me..?
Now... i cant even load my old data.... it hurts.... i was almost through realgam tower.... this hurts so much.... why?

Is there anything that can ruin game data in the game?

It never happened until i got my masterball... could that have something to do with it? or maybe using the pokeball duplicating trick with the m-ball?

I've tried checking other games with save data on the same mem-card an they all worked just fine... and i'm doubtful that the game it'self would be the cause(although being a used game it has it's share of scratches) ...

does anyone have any sort of insite on what happened?

Used, huh? I have a possible solution:

1st person uses cheating device. They sell it.
2nd person buys, finds that it is hacked, and sells it again > (> meaning goes on) UNTIL...
You buy game. You find that it is corrupted. You post why here. I answer.
End of story

i doubt thats the end.... and.. even if u use some sort of cheat device, thats in ur gamecube, not in the cd. actualy... doing anything to the cd would be more work than its worth if u ask me... wich is why people buy cheat devices!

but anyways... i dont think ur story works out how u think anyways...

hmm... now... lets see... 1 could have happened but that doesnt effect the disc it self and any data on it.

but here's how i have it so far...
1. someone bought it... played it... scratched it a lil' (possibly more than 1 someone)
2. i bought it, tried to play... fell asleep in pyrate.... turned off upon waking up an restarted...
3. tried #2 again...
4. tried number 2 again.......
3. gave up on trying to stay awake through pyrate and moved on to other games....
4. months later started colosseum again....
5. devised some way to keep self from falling asleep through boring pyrate...
6. saved...
7. played lots more of the game!
8. saved many many times.
9. got through half of realgam tower.
10. got siverely angered from game saying that save file is currupt.

sorry about the long story... i guess 1 - 5 isnt exactly needed... but sometimes history helps ya?

im tempted to just throw the game out now.....

i mean... it was hard enough for me to stay awake at the begining the last time i tried to do it... i actualy had more of a challenge thinking of a way to stay awake through the begining of the game, as opposed to the whole game itself *i got to a point where if i started to doze off my foot met a big bucket of ice water*
My foot was numb by the time i made it through pyrate but what ever works right?

I just.... after almost getting through the whole bloody game i dont wana have to start from scratch an do it again....
An i really wanted to get houndoom....

OOOOOOKAY! i've made a decision....
I am gona rush through colosseum with the simple goal of catching Sudowoodo and Houndoom. cuz they are they are the only pokemon i want right now that i can only get from colosseum.
Well... i want them for my emerald version... and although i can get and in emerald... by the time i'd be able to get them in the game, i either wouldn't need them or not want them... or not want to train them after getting that far into the game... (the sudowoodo is only needed for breeding).

After that... if the game ****s up again then it's 14 stories between my bedroom window and the ground outside! simple enough ya?

ohhh for sure i was highly dissappointed with collesium but hey i would definatly go through the pain of getting all those shadow pokemon to trade them out

inparticularly entai sucine ho-oh to name a few

Man that sucks! I've played games where my data is corrupted.

I found colo rather boring actually as well. It must be the memory card, cheat devices can't corrupt gc discs.

I'm willing to bet that it's a Third-Party Memory Card.
