I've heard about the Darkrai event at the end of the month, and I'm getting worried. I don't know whether the event is only in Toys 'R' Us stores in the US, or if it's in Canada too. Does anyone know anything more?

On the Pokemon site's Mailbag, they recently had a letter discussing this very topic. The answer was that the event would only be covered in US Toys R Us stores. :/ Sorry.

you can still get it on wifi if it lets us trade it and if you dont have wifi just walk around your neighborhood and try to find it. you can also get wifi at some restaurants.

Aww. That sucks. I know I could be able to trade it, but I want to go through the actual event of catching it.

As far as I know, they're giving it out, so you don't need to catch it.
And there's always AR. It's not in Ireland either, so don't feel too left out.

It hasn't started yet. It takes place on May 31 and June 1, from... 1-4 pm, I think.
