I think there should be more plain rock types or different rock typings besides rock/ground a rock/dragon would be cool like an evolved Aerodactyl so Lance would actually have something close to a dragon. Also to many people are mad at Gyarados not being part dragon but an evolved Gyarados that is water/dragon but GameFreak would probably think of some weird reason to make that a water/bug or something

renember in Hoenn, you accedently evolved {nincada}, with a extra spot, and a extra pokeball, and it gave you the ultrabug your friends were talking about (mabby not to you), a new Wonderguard pokemon would kick but! Especialy with electric type! i still use {shedinja} with a focus sash and give my friends a painful death!.

Give {farfetch'd} a Samurai evolution, for starters.
This would also give us the elusive Flying/Fighting Pokemon.

YES! Then my Shiny Farfetch'd will evolve into something useful competitively!

to get a {shedinja} you must level up a {nincada} to 20 with a extra spot in your party, and have a pokeball in your bag. when {nincada} evolves into a {ninjask} you will find a level 20 {shedinja}!

also i came up with this auesome idea for a Evo. how about a {absol} evo to like a huge snow Leapord/tiger or something?

Here are the amount of pokemon in each type:
Water-93
Normal-82
Flying-65
Grass-56
Psychic-53
Poison-50
Ground-48
Bug-47
Rock-37
Fire-35
Electric-28
Steel-26
Fighting-25
Dark-25
Ice-22
Dragon-19
Ghost-18
So ghost, dragon and ice are the three that need more pokemon the most.
I'd like to see more pokemon in every type but i'd like it to be a little more balanced ex.
Water 60
Fire 60
Grass 60
Electric 60
Dragon 30-40
Ghost 30-50

well there are types that have pokemon that should be available from the start, but any first evo. without highly amazing stats. could be put in early in the game ex. Smoochum

I agree. The bug type is made out to seem like the joke type in my opinion. I tried putting Vespiquen on my team but it was more like a dead weight than a help. If it was a little faster, or if it wasn't paired up with Flying type it would have been great. But now one rockslide will wipe Vespiquen out, it is the same with many other bug types too. I thing bugs are fascinating in real life. Some bugs are also quite the fearsome predator in reality too. But in pokemon, they are just plain weak.

from what ive heard, pokemon was created because the creator or someone liked collecting bugs. If thats true, you'd think they'd make the bug type a little stronger, or at least in the game because bugs like pinsir are supposed to like be able to decapitate you. But still, the bug types need major improvements.

I completely agree, especially about the comparison with real life, it seems that all potentially powerful "bug" pokemon, like flygon or vespiquen, are given the fatal flying or poison secondary type, or are given a completely different typing, without the bug type. Its a shame imo, but there's not much you can do when the type chart is so biased against the bug type.

Also, is it just me or are there a shortage of good fire types in the wild? I can only think of the Gen 1 fire types, and Houndoom.

bug type alone is a awesome type only three weaknesses and great resistance to fighting and ground moves also bug type moves are super affective against GRASS DARK AND PSYCHIC . its just that its almost always paired up with bad types and stats

Yeah, but that's partly why its a joke type, its not taken seriously by Game Freak, and its taken until Gen 4 to get some decent STAB moves, like Big Buzz, and decent offensive pokemon, like Yanmega.

yeah, i think they may have some decent bugs in next gen, but weve seen like 32 official pokemon from next gen and so far the only one that seems like a bug type is Denchura, but he seems pretty good. And sorry, i just have to point this out, you said Big Buzz :) i think you meant Bug Buzz :) Like i said, I HAD to point that out :)

Me and my brother were discussing the whole bug thing too. xD

The only bug Pokemon I've ever used that wasn't completely dead weight was Heracross. And even then, pretty much any flying move would wipe him out.

I'd like to see a Bug/Psychic or Bug/Fire, personally.

A fire scorpion like InstantBacon said could be an evolution of Drapion (but Drapion is a Poison/Dark type pokemon) or be a Poison/Fire type.

Actually, I was thinking more along the lines of a fire ant or bombardier beetle.

A fire ant would make sense, as it has fire in its name, but for the scorpion idea, it could evolve from Skorupi, so it would kinda be like Kirlia to Gallade or Gardevoir. Bombardier Beetle? Hmm...dont think ive heard of it so i cant comment.
