omg guys, did any of u got ur starter in the game as a female ?
when i started a new game in my FR , i chose and really shocked to look it as a female . anyway i played the game and it's a now.
somewhere i heard that all the 27 starter Pokemon[including the evolutions of all 3 generations starters'] were all male 87.5% and female 12.5%
so was i lucky to get a female starter? and chance for getting a female starter is rare?

It's not that rare to get a female starter, just uncommon.
You can use our Psydex to view the gender ratios of each Pokemon.
For example, here is Bulbasaur's Dex page: http://psypokes.com/dex/pokedex.php?id=001&view=all
Thus Bulbasaur has an 87.5% chance of being male, and a 12.5% chance of being female.

My starters were male. When I breeded more, I got a few females.

If you keep restarting your game at the beginning, it's not at all uncommon to get a female starter. I prefer male starters though, cos if you breed with dittos and etc, your baby will have the all the father's moves.

I have 1 female Charizard, 3 female Blaziken and 1 female Venusaur, out of well over a 100 hatched out. Those are ALL my female starters, from all starter species...

I've only ever seen two female starters: my friend's Grovyle, and (weirdly) it's grand-child (Crunch-breeding. It's a hard business).
A 12.5% chance is quite small, but it's approximately 1/16, so in theory, if you were to restart the game (or breed) 16 times, one time you would get a female. How wrong can probability get!

Sorry quaggy but basic math:
25% = 1 in 4.
As 12.5% is half as likely it's 1/8.
12 x 8 = (80 + 16) = 96.
8 x 0.5 = 4.
96 + 4 = 100%
Therefore 12.5/100 = 1/8.
This is an unecessary topic for discussion. Ditto can be caught in this generation, thus a female starter can be obtained. End of story. Please lock.

Indeed, this topic has basically outlived its scope for discussion, since it's already been established that female starters are not so rare after all.
In the meantime, you, Magic Umbreon sir, let us mods do our jobs by ourselves, instead of backseat moderating, which happens to be frowned upon. We'll appreciate your cooperation on this matter
