Okay, we all know that there is alot of evidence to believe that they should make a Johto remake for the DS. The biggest clue however was in Diamond & Pearl when someone hacked the games and found out that you could change the origin of a Pokemon to Johto as one of the regions.

My topic is the task that needs to be done. Someone needs to hurry up and try to research and hack into the Platinum version to see if that little piece of evidence is there too! If it isn't, then it is obvious that Johto won't come! If it is, then there's an even greater chance!

I don't know how to hack, but I do have several LV. 1 chickoritas. I think the only way to get the johto starters w/out hacking is from Emerald or an Event. I got my chickorita from a friend, whose friend got one from an event and bred it and traded it to my friend.

I don't know much about hacking, but you can get alot of johto pokemon from colesuem and FRLG. Besides, isn't a mistake in the hacked data like that usually the sign of a bad hacker?

Pokemon shiny gold is a hack. It's not real, and so it can't be used as evidence (also, we can't discuss it).

The Johto thing was there so that if Nintendo wanted to use it, they could. Like the other unused locations - such as Space World 16, Space World 3000 (or whatever they're called) - it was probably planned for an event. If this was evidence of a Johto game, chances are that it would be GBA, for palpark.

A Johto remake would be awesome, but not neccessary. LG/FR were apologies, as far as I know, for the lack of Kanto Pokemon. Every Johto Pokemon is available now.

But I still hope they make one, although I doubt it.

A remake of johto (most everyone agrees) would be cool.
But even if they change the origin of a pokemon in the game, it wouldn't mean anything.
It would be, as Patchy says, for palpark or whatnot.
The only REAL evidence would be if someone hacked and found data that LOOKED like it could fit with a Johto remake. (like an empty map, or music, or badges)

If they did do a Johto remake, they wouldn't remake Crystal. That would be redundant.

There is no evidence of a Johto remake in D/P (the locations thing is not evidence, like Patchy explained), and as of now, there is no evidence of Johto in Platinum. It's obvious nobody has the brain capacity to understand what ryan_dan was asking, so I'm going to close the topic. However, if he does come across any reliable evidence [citation needed] about Johto in Platinum Version, he's welcome to make another thread about it or PM me to unlock this one.
