hey guys Image

remember the R/S/E Journal? well, since i've been playing pearl nonstop for the past two or three days, i decided we should have one for this generation.

---

rules & notes:
- this is mainly for ingame (as in, while you're still collecting gym badges and stuff). i guess you could post about those hundreds of bad babies you've been hatching, if you wanted to, too.
- each post has to be at least a paragraph (4-5 sentences) long. if you're having a hard time doing this, add lots of detail! make it as riveting as possible, even if it's just battling a picnicker. if you still can't get at least a paragraph down, don't post.
- only post once a day. feel free to edit your daily post as much as you want, though - the longer the better, so be sure to include as much as you can.
- posting your team with level, stats, and moves every post might be a good idea. just don't put it in every time you edit your post; at the end of the day, you can edit in your final team.
- include where you're at in every subject of your entry.
- 'nothing happened today' posts are not allowed. you're not required to post every day, or at all.
- express yourself. act like it's your real diary. i can tell when people are being a bit shy or cautious, so don't think you can get away with a simple 'meh'. however, this doesn't mean you can post 3636733 swears every time something bad happens.
- you're not writing a story, you're writing exactly what happened. so no 'i have a long lost sister with a mechanical arm, and i've heard that shes a member of team magma and they're coming here to destory the earth'.
- have fun~

---

i, currently, am too lazy/busy playing pearl to type up a post. D: i will later, though. if you need an example of what to post, i'll go ahead and quote the amazing galar (you don't have to be as pessimistic or funny, though ;o):

Galar wrote:
Day 01: Today was an awful day. I woke up and hit my head really hard on the ceiling lamp when I was getting up and stretching my back.

I had breakfast with no one except my pokémon because I don't have too many friends (unless you consider monsters your friends). My toaster broke and I didn't want to eat the bread because it was way too toasted, and I was afraid I'd get cancer if I eated it.

My pokémon suck. They're all between levels 23 and 28. Trapinch doesn't win a single battle and it keeps biting my ankles when I shout the battle commands. Anorith is a weirdo in its own special way, he grabs things with its pincers and throw them at me just for fun. Spoink is a dirty pig, literally, he hates everyone and likes to dig in the mud and dress my clothes after he's completely covered in dirt. Breloom and Combusken hate each other, and keep threatening to kill each other when one's asleep. Manectric is a loser, and he wouldn't be part of my team if I could find a wild Mareep in Hoenn: he cries all the time and hides my bag when I'm not looking.

I'm heading to Petalburg to try to beat my dad, because he's an imbecil and I always hated him. His pokémon are disgusting and ugly, and I hate them as well. I unfortunately have to spend my precious time trying to make Trapinch and Anorith grow to level 27 without their cooperation before facing my dad, though.

Dear Diary (XD),

I've had lots of bad hatchlings. =(
Y'see, I wanted an awesome team to pwn RoT. So I got my AR and put on the codes for IV check, Fast egg hatch and instant egg in the day-care. That was good, but for some strange reason, everything kept hatching as male and naughty. >.<

Anyway, I decided that hatching good IV naughty Pokemon was better than random natured random IV pokemon which I would have to trade to Pearl to check the IVs of (I don't use AR on Diamond).

So after about 20 eggs of Snover, I got one with nice attack, sp.atk and speed IVs. So I moved onto Arcanine! (Well actually Growlithe.) Knowing that all I would get was Naughty males, I put on the code to make all Pokemon adamant...

IT DIDN'T WORK. :(
But after a few million eggs I got one with nice enough IVs.

My next target was...Gible.

I hatched about 50 Gible before I got a good one. The dad had 31 attack IV's and the mother had I-forget-what IVs. I hatched and I hatched and I blew your house down finally got one with 31 atk and 29 speed. =D

And now I'm stuck with the task of EV training them. ¬_¬ And the stupid codes for Vitamins = Max. don't work for me. (What a surprise.)

I'll edit in my team later since 1) It's not done yet. and 2)I don't know the final stats yet.

I'm clearly in Solaceon town this whole time. Oh and one more thing, while EV training, some of my Pokemon wouldn't obey me (I had no badges, lol). So I beat Volkner with a freshly caught Nidoqueen level 99.

Volkner wrote:
All Pokemon will obey you

stfu, you lie Volkner, you lie. (It didn't work. ¬_¬)

thankies for posting <3

okay, i guess i should post an entry now.

---
I've been playing for about 16 hours...and I only have two badges. On my last save file, I had beaten the game in 19 hours. What REALLY sucks is that I'm using the exact same team I used on my last save file. D: It makes me feel like an old lady.

I'm almost ready to battle the third gym leader (forgot her name), but right now I'm moping around because I didn't catch a Cleffa when I was in the area. See, I've been catching every different Pokemon I've seen, and abandoning Cleffa was the first time I didn't catch everything. I ran into hundreds of Chinglings..but no Cleffa. :/ I think it hates me. I haven't caught a Ghastly or a Bonsly yet, either, which makes me feel twice as bad.

I haven't hit Route 210 yet..but I will in a minute. When I'm not torturing my keyboard, I'm playing Pokemon, so I'll be at Veilstone really soon.

oh.. this sounds fun...

Day 01 - night-time,

So i woke up late... hehhee... around 9 PM. Guess I was a "little" bit late for my meeting with my friend at the Pokemon center, huh? anyway... as I was getting ready to go, my stupid neighbour barged into me and made me go to a stupid lake to see if we could find a red Gyarados... Sure... such an easy thing to do. But I tagged along.

Ok... at the lake there was only an old man with a suitcase and this chick... apparently, they were there for the same reason as we were but they didnt stay long. and the old man, ever so smart, left his briefcase there. My Neighbour(AKA Unti) wanted to check it out... But we were attacked by STARLY'S LV 2!!!!OMG SOME1 CALL SUPERMAN.... >.> seriously, lv 2.... i could throw rocks at it to death... But Unti had the "brilliant" idea of opening the case, and what do u know? Pokeballs were inside... with Pokemon apparently. so i was fast and picked the first one I saw and threw it out.........................................................

A MONKEY???
ok... I got a red monkey? stupid dumb luck!
but i destroyed the lv 2 starly and went on back home, listening to how Unti's Penguim was sooooo much better than my monkey...
the old man was there... he wasnt mad, he gave me the monkey, apparently... sheesh... I prefered a scizor, but Chimchar is fine...

So I left Unti at his place and ran to the Pokemon Center. My friend Kira was waiting for me there. Said she has something for me. And she did. 2 Eggs... >.> said they were close to hatching, so i just ran around for a while(1 hour) until they hatched... WHAT DO YOU KNOW? a bulbasaur and a scyther. that made my day. ^^

I spent another hour training them until Kira wanted to evolve my scyther. Now I got:

{bulbasaur} Level 9
{scizor} Level 10
{chimchar} Level 12
{bidoof} Level 2, wich will be a very good HM slave when he evolves... ^^

On my way to Jubilife city.

to be continued...

This is perfect... I just recently bought a new copy of Pearl spontaneously (I've had Diamond since its release), so this topic is perfect for me! :3 (I'm going to steal your team listing style Kasey... hope you don't mind)

One thing to note... I'm playing as a female trainer this time around for the fun of it.

Tuesday, June 10, 2008

Well, it's been ten days since the start of my journey from Twinleaf Town. I'm currently in Veilstone City; the city "Hewn from Rock", as I read on a signpost. The department store has an amazing selection of items to help with my quest! However, I ended up just buying a boatload of fresh water, soda pop, and lemonade in lieu of other stuff. Why? Well, they're certainly more cost efficient than Super Potions and heal better for their money!

Oh, now would be a good time to take detailed notes of my team... I just got them back from the nurse at the Pokecenter!

{zangoose} Limstella (female), Lv. 27. Naughty nature.
HP: 78 ---- Slash
Attack: 80 ---- Pursuit
Defense: 43 ---- False Swipe
Sp. Atk: 40 ---- Swords Dance
Sp. Def: 37 ---- Ability: Immunity
Speed: 60 ---- Item: None

{prinplup} Shiva (female), Lv. 26. Calm nature.
HP: 73 ---- Bubblebeam
Attack: 39 ---- Peck
Defense: 42 ---- Metal Claw
Sp. Atk: 55 ---- Growl
Sp. Def: 56 ---- Ability: Torrent
Speed: 35 ---- Item: None

{crobat} Leon (male), Lv. 26. Naive nature.
HP: 85 ---- Wing Attack
Attack: 59 ---- Steel Wing
Defense: 54 ---- Bite
Sp. Atk: 48 ---- Confuse Ray
Sp. Def: 47 ---- Ability: Inner Focus
Speed: 85 ---- Item: Dread Plate

{misdreavus} Claude (male), Lv. 27. Gentle nature.
HP: 75 ---- Psybeam
Attack: 39 ---- Shock Wave
Defense: 35 ---- Astonish
Sp. Atk: 54 ---- Confuse Ray
Sp. Def: 59 ---- Ability: Levitate
Speed: 52 ---- Item: None

{bibarel} HM Slave08 (male), Lv. 17. Hardy nature.
HP: 56 ---- Rock Smash
Attack: 36 ---- Cut
Defense: 28 ---- Strength
Sp. Atk: 24 ---- Water Gun
Sp. Def: 30 ---- Ability: Simple
Speed: 34 ---- Item: None

Leon evolving into a Crobat so soon really startled me! I was fighting the first trainer in Maylene's gym, and he had leveled up to level 25, still a Golbat. Then all of a sudden after the battle, he evolved! He must be really attached to me to have evolved so early. <3

Speaking of the gym, I did indeed beat Maylene. That makes 3 badges I have so far on my quest. On top of that, I've seen 65 Pokemon and obtained 27. I could probably stand to catch some more wild Pokemon... but I've been a little impatient as of late. Especially a few levels back when Claude didn't know Psybeam and his only decent attack was Psywave. =_=;;

Ooooh, I almost forgot! After whupping Team Galactic with the help of Lucas, I got the HM for Fly! However, I don't have any spare Flying Pokemon to use as HM Slaves, and I don't want to force Leon to learn an HM move... I hope there's some wild Flying types nearby for me to snag. If not, I may have to backtrack a bit...

Ugh, I just remembered... without 4 badges, traded Pokemon will only obey me up to level 30. This spells trouble for me since Limstella was given to me by my friend Joey. I better get going on the next gym soon... otherwise Limstella will start disobeying me again. I don't want to relive the frustration with her I had during her teen levels of me only having one badge... *shudders*

Well, I think I'm going to go hunt for some Flying type Pokemon like I mentioned. Having the ability to Fly to past areas is going to come really in handy.

-Claire

Trainer: Myelin (My-uh-lin), female

Today I caught a Shuckle and took it's berry, didn't do much with it since I don't usually train every PKMN I catch. then went to bed until I got up around noon to play Pearl again. When I checked my PKMN I was surprised to find that Bibarel's PKRS had spread to Heatran. So far I haven't gotten any more new PKMN, but I have been EV Training Heatran to boost it's speed, although last level it's SP. Def went up by 10. Also the berries I planted gave off 10 berries each, which shocked me because I had never gotten that many berries from one planet before. I watered the remaining berry plants on my way to try and get every single berry. Heatran is now approaching lv 72, but sadly I think I have to stop and charge my DS, for the light has turned red... a few more minutes I guess and I will save and shut the game off, or put it on standby... You know you're PKMN is way higher of a level when Lava Plume faints a Poliwhirl in one hit. Now to use a Max Potion on Heatran and off we go...

Heatran used Lava Plume
*burns Poliwhirl*
*Poliwhirl faints*
879 EXP gained

Heatran used Lava Plume!
*Poliwhirl faints*
Heatran grew to lv72
+15 SPEED

Mission accomplished *saves, turns off, and charges*

Team with me at this current moment:

{heatran} lv 71
{torterra} lv 100
{staraptor} lv100
{palkia} lv100
{swampert} lv39
-empty slot-

Well, I actually beat the game yesterday, so I'll just write about what happened today.

---

First thing I did when I started the game this morning was check to see what the swarm was. It was Delibird (yesterday was Corsola), so I headed to Snowpoint. Making my way to route 116 was hell. There were plenty of trainers that I didn't battle while going to Snowpoint for the first time, though, luckily, I dodged all of them. But I ran into a crapload of Pokemon.

The first Delibird I ran into didn't stay in the quick ball, so I went ahead and killed it. I didn't run into anymore for a while..although, Cresselia did pop up out of nowhere. I threw a quick ball at it just for the hell of it, but it broke out and escaped. Oh well. I bumped into another Delibird sometime later, and, even though it didn't stay in the quick ball either, I caught it.

Next on my list of things to do was to go check out the trophy garden daily special. Today's is Porygon (yesterday's was Igglybuff). I still haven't caught one yet.

Then, since I actually felt like using the Pokeradar today, I went to route 205 to look for a Slowpoke. I didn't find one, but I did find a Hoppip. I was confused for a while..then I realized I was in the southern part of the route, and Slowpoke was in the northern part. I figured I'd go to Valley Windworks to look for an Elekid. I didn't find one (and, yes, I did have the FR cartridge in the DS), but I caught a Mareep. Right afterwards, I went up to the northern part of route 205 to get a Slowpoke, and that's what I did. After that, I headed towards Oreburgh to catch a Stantler.

Less than an hour ago, I figured I'd go catch a Lapras and a Dratini. I looked for maybe seven minutes for a Lapras..I soon realized I was looking in the wrong spot. I'd have to escort Marley get one. I didn't bring a Pokemon with Defog with me, so that took a while. However, the first Pokemon I ran into while surfing was a Lapras. Caught it.

I went through the wrong entrance to get Dratini. Once I ended up in route 116, I knew something was wrong. So I wasted ten minutes. I flew to Hearthome, and made my way to the waterfall in the cave. I found one pretty quickly, but it took more than one try to catch, unlike Lapras. I also tried looking for a Loudred out in the snow while I was in the area, but I gave up soon after starting.

Later...

I went to Eterna Forest to catch a Misdreavus like I had been meaning to. But, the Old Chateau distracted me, so I went there, first. My sister (this is irl) was in my room, bothering me as always, and she stood behind me to watch and to make sure I didn't scream if something freaky happened (I'm easily spooked). My stomach jumped a few times, especially when I saw the little girl in the room next to the one I was in. After inspecting all of the rooms, I decided to go and catch Rotom.

Rotom didn't stay in the quick ball, so I sent out the only Pokemon I had on hand that was close to its level (a level 16 HM slave Psyduck). Rotom quickly discarded of it, however. I then just threw a Pokeball at it, just to see if it would stay in. Well, it did. Full HP and everything. When I checked its summary, I noticed that it was Modest and mischievous. Very nice.

When my dad knocked on my door after I left the chateau, I screamed. lulz.

It took me a few tries to catch a Misdreavus (those things really don't know the meaning of 'stay inside the damn ball'), but I eventually caught one. Afterwards, I flew to Pastoria to look for a Hoothoot in the Great Marsh. While searching for one, I ran into a Kangaskhan. I threw a ball at it, but it popped out and fled. I did catch a Hoothoot, though, as well as a Croagunk. I was going to look for a Skorupi next, but I ran out of steps shortly after nabbing the latter.

Obtained Pokemon today (in order):
{delibird} {hoppip} {mareep} {slowpoke} {stantler} {lapras} {dratini} {rotom} {misdreavus} {hoothoot} {croagunk} {diglett}

Oh, my God, Valy <3 I couldn't read that more than once, all those horrible mistakes made me sick. But I guess I'm making my journals that same fictional style (hope it doesn't turn out a fanfiction, though).

Since I've beaten that game quite sometime ago, my journal will feature my (mis)adventures on my current quest, which is training, catching and hatching, and etc.

Last In-game entry: Apr. 18 Friday. Started from Pastoria City. Used a PC Box. Used Cut at Route 212. Flew to Veilstone City. Used a PC Box. Battled Shaun at Route 212.

June 11 Wednesday.

Okay, so here I am at the Veilstone City's Pokémon Center. It's over 10 pm now, but I just can't stop and relax. Whitefang, my Electrike, and Sandfreak, my Gible, need some training, so I grab their Pokéballs, along with Spike, my Luxray, Boreal, my Golduck, and Twiggy, my Lucario (all Pokémon League champions), and also good ol' Charap, my Chatot, and go out. It's a beautiful night and the streets are busy (as usual), but I go all the way down, away from the noise and the crowd, until I reach Route 214.

Whitefang and Sandfreak are currently receiving some EV training for Special and Physical Sweepers roles, respectively, so I go to these special spots where I know trainers who posses the right Pokémon that will help them grow lurk all day and night. I know there is this Mitchell guy, who has an Alakazam and Gengar, which are the perfect opponents for Whitefang. Of course he doesn't battle those creatures directly; it would be a total victory for Mitchell, because my dear Rakurai is just level 21, and his foes are, at least, above level 50.

Before making my way to where my opponent is standing, I let Whitefang out for some air. He comes out in a white light and barks cutely at my direction. I gently stroke his head and feel sparks of contentendness caress my fingers. A few more levels and he's ready to evolve to Manectric, but he's not as anxious as I am towards it; not only his mild nature helps him further his career on Special Sweeping, but also makes him very gentle and calm, and one of my Pokémon that I deal with most easily.

I go back to my way, Whitefang walking closely behind me, and turn my VS Seeker on. I get a response from Mitchell, and quicken my footsteps until we meet each other. "I was certain that you'd return. I sensed your prensence, you see", he greets me, trying to sound convincing. "Yeah, I'm pretty sure" I reply, not really amused, and our battle starts.

His first Pokémon to come out is Gengar, but Whitefang is already on the field. I call him back, switching him out with Boreal. The Ghost Pokémon strikes with a powerful Dark Pulse attack, and Boreal summons massive waves from the nearby lake. Gengar is, literally, surfed away, and my little Electrike turns up a level. Mitchell then calls out his Alakazam, and I switch Boreal for Whitefang. Before the big-brained beast draws any attack, I return Whitefang to his Pokéball, Spike taking his place. Alakazam forsees an attack, and I command a poweful Crunch; too bad my Luxray wasn't fast enough and he's hit with Psychic, but in a few seconds he has Alakazam's torso between his sharp teeth. The battle is over and Whitefang gains yet another level. "Defeating you will be no easy matter", Mitchell says, disappointed, after returning Alakazam. "You just gotta try harder next time" I say, knowing that by then my Pokémon will also be stronger, and the same conversation will roll.

I leave him to go back to the Pokémon Center for some rest, Charap taking me there faster than any bike. Even though I feel slightly tired now, my organizing nature doesn't let me sleep until I have all of my Pokémon's progress updated, so I boot my PC and acess my registers in my "EV Train" section:

{electrike} Whitefang - LV 23 - Mild - Static - Leer/Discharge/Crunch/Thunder Wave - HP 52, Atk 30, Def 23, Sp Atk 44, Sp Def 25, Spd 39

{gible} Sandfreak - LV 16 - Careful - Sand Veil - Sand-Attack/Dragon Rage/Sandstorm/Take Down - HP 46, Atk 31, Def 20, Sp Atk 17, Sp Def 23, Spd 18

{riolu} Anubis - LV 18 - Adamant - Inner Focus - Quick Attack/Force Palm/Endure/Swords Dance - HP 43, Atk 34, Def 19, Sp Atk 17, Sp Def 20, Spd 29

{growlithe} Firefang - LV 23 - Sassy - Intimidate - Bite/Odor Sleuth/Flame Wheel/Leer - HP 63, Atk 38, Def 28, Sp At 41, Sp Def 33, Spd 34

{vaporeon} Watergun - LV 18 - Relaxed - Water Absorb - Tail Whip/Tackle/Endure/Water Gun - HP 76, Atk 29, Def 28, Sp Atk 45, Sp Def 40, Spd 29

I shut down the PC and go up the stairs towards my bedroom. After the traditional sleep-prep routine, I finally lay my head on my comfy pillow and drift towards dreamland, hoping to use my EV trained monsters in future battles.

After I had bred all my BF's transferred PKMN, I went to go evolve Cyndaquil, Totodile and Aron; luckily I have EXP share so it only took me about... 2 hours XD

Well today started out like the rest have been lately; go to sleep at 4 AM, wake up around noon and started to play Pokemon Pearl;

Once I get to my BF's house I try out this game called PKMN Ranch (Wii), but soon afterwards get to trading back his transferred PKMN. In order to get... something... I trade him my Noctowl and Cleffa to transfer to the Ranch; I also later hatch a Gible (would've been a real pain without Camerupt) and he soon transfers that over as well. He trades me his Regi, so I go to Snowpoint to catch Regigias; I throw a Master Ball and catch him successfully with the right nature and food taste. Another few trades and I get Mawile and Togekiss, then Sandslash and Ninetales;I travel up and down Solaceon town to hatch Sandshrew and do the same for Vulpix as well. Maybe I should take Ditto out of Day Care; I haven't raised him at all and he's level 70 XD

I searched a lot for a Houndoom, but after about 10 minutes of looking I could not find one; I shall look again later

Recently I caught a Miltank (I was surprised, I was searching for Tauros,) and later a Stantler; I am currently searching for a Smeargle with no luck on finding him/her.

Data of Pokemon obtained today:
{sandshrew} {sandslash} {vulpix} {ninetales} {cyndaquil} {quilava} {typhlosion} {totodile} {croconaw} {feraligatr} {stantler} {miltank} {mawile} {sableye} {zangoose} {togekiss} {regigigas} {regirock} {regice} {registeel} {aron} {lairon} {aggron}

I'm on a roll ^-^

Although Staraptor really needs to visit a Pokemon Center... PP running SO low @_@

Galar: Oh, don't worry about it. If it was horrible, I wouldn't have used it as an example! <3

---

I woke up around 12:30 today..because I stayed up till maybe 4 AM writing some stupid fanfiction. I was upset when I realized that by 3:30 AM (I started around 2, maybe?), I only had 477 words, but everything else about it is another story for another time.

Around 12 AM (we're going back in time, people!), I was breeding Pokemon and hatching eggs (after catching a Lickitung). I needed to give my sister back her Pokemon I migrated from firered, so I was breeding them to keep the eggs. I also hatched the Riolu and Happiny eggs I had gotten some time ago. I got bored quickly, though, and shut off the game for the night.

Since I had already checked the swarms and daily special at midnight, I didn't have to bother with it. I resumed breeding my sister's Pokemon, and I'm currently doing that right now.

Obtained Pokemon today (in order):
{lickitung} {riolu} {happiny} {weedle} {growlithe} {tyrogue} {aerodactyl} {kakuna} {beedrill} {volbeat} {furret} {noctowl} {dugtrio} {stunky} {scyther} {scizor}

Dear Diary,
Today started off great as my egg hatched - it was a ledyba! It's so adorable! I named him Samuel and I'm keeping him with me for the time being - I think he should see the world a bit before I send him to Bebe to stay with all of my other baby pokémon.
This is where my day took a turn for the worse. I entered my hippopotas (Nelly) into a Tough Competition and we lost! It's probably my fault for not feeding her enough poffins and we had trouble in the acting round: Nelly went first, but all of her moves are based on going last for the best marks. I feel so silly for entering her so unprepared. Live and learn.
I also went hunting for togepi again today, it's such an elusive pokémon! I can't catch one for the life of me! At least Lucas' sister cheered me up by telling me where a swarm for delibird were flying. Of course I caught one, Diary!
I've also been gradually training my stunky, I don't usually keep poison types on my team, but I figure I should a evolve him and if I ever need a poison type then he'll be perfect for the job.
Well, I'll talk to you more tomorrow, Diary.
xox

Current travelling team:

{ledyba} Samuel - Lvl 1
{honchkrow} Agatha - Lvl 73
{floatzel} Alex - Lvl 79
{stunky} Stunky - Lvl 24

Well I started in Jubilife City. I went to the GTS and got a plant cloak Image! Then I decided to go to the Old Chataeu. And to my surprise, I came into the dining room and so a ghost of an old man. Its legs didn't move, and I saw it a few times. I did a little bit more exploration and I also saw a little girl ghost! AAAH! After that, I killed time at the game corner in
Veilstone City.

In all, I got just a Image.
