Hmm, that makes a bit more sense. I'll be sporadically playing it on Saturday so I could always look. Most likely it's Wifi, but it won't hurt to look.

I raced from my second badge to make it to Snowpoint and you know what? I'm completely satisfied.
The diamond dust was so cool, and the city music along with it made the experience a lot better.

According to Serebii, the Diamond Dust (sparkling snow) is what the special event is...

Was the city music the same, different (i.e. remix), or radically different?
I haven't played my DS yet today; I'll probably go check it out. (And be disappointed *shrug*.)
So I guess in response to my original comment, I was half-right.

- DNA It was the same, the only difference AT ALL is that the snow is occuring in the "Diamond Dust" form (which, BTW, happens IRL when the air is so cold that all moisture suspended in it freezes, falling as very light, snow-like ice crystals.).

Jesus, you people expect too much.
No DNA, you are completely wrong, and you still fail at life.

I think that he means he was right about all this just being a way to draw attention to the game...
And i quite agree with that; after that announcement, the whole pokemon community had been enthusiastic about it... And what do we get? Just a few snow crystals

I never expected much...the crystal snow was*snores*. There...I just said it...Anyway I don't think that the suprise would be free shinies all day long, I mean that would ruin the purpose of a shiny.

Right, if it was programmed into the chip, then someone can just set it to the 12th and catch shinies like it was nothing.

I agree with what seems to be a lot of people's opinion: People expected too much but the sparkling snow was too little. I would have been happy if we could have caught a few rare pokemon easier or something, but some snow looking slightly different? Lame.

I didnt see this forum untill today...I wanted to see it. I even changed the DS clock just to see it and it didnt change, so even if you could have had a field day with shinies you couldnt change the clock back to catch them. You did say that the snow in Snowpoint does sparkle some days but very rarely right? Im going to have to look for it sometime.

Exactly.
I actually went out of boredom to see what the big hubbub was. The way it was stated, I expected the ground to be sparkly (which actually would have been pretty cool-looking). But what I get it random pixels reminiscent of RBY graphics.
Not to flame anybody, but that's just sad. I'm not disappointed or surprised, however.
