Okay, I finally got to Giratina, and Hiko can get it down to red pretty easily, but whatever I do, it refuses to stay in the ball. Here's the list of Pokeballs I have
Dusk Ball x38
Quick Ball x5
Timer Ball x10
Ultra Ball x51
Nest Ball x17
Net Ball x5
Repeat Ball x9
Luxury Ball x10
The team I have is
lv. 81 (female)
Shadow Claw
Brick Break
Flamethrower
Aerial Ace
lv. 30 (female)
Wrap
Leer
Thunder Wave
Twister
lv. 56 (female)
Rock Smash
Crunch
Ice Fang
Surf
lv. 66 (female)
Thunderbolt
Crunch
Return
Discharge
lv. 21 (female)
Cut
Strength
Rock Smash
Rock Climb
lv. 3 (male)
Tackle
Growl
Defog
Fly
Nothings wrong with the Pokemon, anddon't dis the Starly. It can get Giratina within an inch of his life.
Can any one help me?

get it into the low red, and either paralyze or sleep it. Also, get a wall, or get a bunch of potions, so you can take Giratina's attacks. Then, keep throwing Poke Balls until you get it. Dusk Balls work well (try to catch it at night), also Timer Balls are useful after 20-30 turns. But you can catch it with Great/Ultra Balls if you're lucky.

Yeah, I'd have to agree with Sion. Something that can resist all it's attacks will work best when you try to capture it eg Skarmory.
And Dusk Balls work best where it's dark like in caves, not just at night. They're 2x as effective as Ultra Balls then

Just get it down as much as possible, and maybe sleep/parlyz it. Then just throw random balls. I caught mine with Giratina at 1/2-3/4 health left with a normal Poke Ball. :P

Well, I know what Pokemon can last for turns on end with hardly anything to worry about: Starly. The little bugger is Normal/Flying, so Giratina can't kill it with his two big attacks. Heal Block doesn't concern me. So all that's left is Slash, which he barely ever uses. And I have actually almost killed Giratina with Starly's Fly

proven strategy:
1) get it down to low health. you seem to know what youre doing with this, so just use your method.
2) start throwing ultraballs / dusk balls / timer balls like mad. while you are doing this step i found the best combination of pokemon for you to use is gastly and starly. gastly is immune to all attacks but its ghost type move. but that takes two turns, so if it starts with that, just switch your starly in. either that or teach your gastly protect.

Shadow Force is unevadeable, so a Gastly with Protect wouldn't work.

Ghost type beats ghost type, tyranitar_268. And as for you, Youkor no Mugon, I'd go with Cuddle's idea. Keep Ghastly out, and then switch to starly when G-to the-Tina starts using shadow force. Of course you should get him to low health with stronger pokemon, and try to paralyze him, as it never wears off. Don't let up on him, keep using Dusk Balls, he should succumb soon enough. If not, then you can always get on your knees and beg to his Tina-ness. (heheh, I still can't believe he has "Tina" in his name - how intimidating...)

i got it down to red and paralyzed in a few turns then sent in a staravia and because of its resistance to earth power(with flying) and shdow force (with normal). staravia was only lvl 18 so i kept on using quick attack and eventually it was on 2 health i sent in a wall then threw about 40 ultras then the first timer i threw caught it. (lucky?)

Quick Attack?
Hmm...Normal type attack against a ghost type Pokemon doesnt sound believable so either your exaggerating or your playin.

i'm about 90% that shadow forge can't hit starly... normal type... ghost type move. doesn't effect...
anyway, catch it at night, get low red health and paralize him. then throw mad dusk balls. i heard somewhere (on this site) that they are supposed to be 4X as effective as ultra when used in a cave at night. i caught him this way after about 5-8 balls.

I captured mine by using false swipe using one of my pokes then t went to the reds then used like about 10 Quick Balls then 10 Dusk Balls then finally at the 9th throw of the 9 timer Balls captured.

Shadow Force CANNOT hit normal Types.
Without forsight/Scrappy, FalseSwipe/QuickAttack Doesn't harm this little dude.
a Gastly/Haunter/Gengar (lvl50-60ish Haunter are found in his area) i'll take nothing from all of his attacks Barrinng his 2 Turn Ghost move, that you can switch a mere lvl1 Bidoof into on Turn two, then switch Your Hauntor back in on, AFTER, you've got Giratina Bet up.

i got mine with my infernape and a starly in battle, the rest of my team were hm slaves (so was the starly but my infernape died durring battle and starly was resistant so it just took awaile) i managed to catch it by just throwing dusk balls and timer balls. i had giratina in red and my level 5 starly could have killed it if i tryied to get it any lower. kinda funny to think level 70 kills level 87 then a level 5{starly}
was out and catch!

I remember the whole Giratina experience as easy.
I was aimlessly wandering around the Spring Path cave without reading the signs and I found Gira. I saved before battling to be safe, LVL66 Luxray used 2 Crunches, got it into red and I caught it after throwing less than 20 balls.
But Heatran... I must've reset 50 times before I caught it.
