lol, i am!! Well, i'm getting paid pokemon, which is pretty awesome, since their IVs are really high. But I don't get to trade them. :(

My next job is Weavile x/31/x/x/x/31 Adamant, and then that again with Jolly.

;o

The person I'm chaining for is giving me a ton (well...six, but they're pretty good) of pokemon to be the only one allowed to trade them. I could trade them and not him, but then I wouldn't get as much.

He should stop though, it's making Cuddles pissed at him. :O

so let me get this straight, are you only allowed to trade those paticular shinies to him or not allowed to trade shinies to anyone but him (thought i'd ask even tho it makes no sense).

*inhale*

okay, this is it.

He asks me to chain 100+ shinies and give him the best I get. I agree. I can either give him the shinies and get six Pokemon from him, or i can give him the shinies and get one Pokemon.

However, if I get six, he is the only one allowed to trade them to other people. But if I take one, I get to be the only person allowed to trade them to other people, and I'm choosing the first option.

Thats why cuddles is mad at him, for taking full trade rights.

i see a lot of responses saying that you cannot get shinies by chains.
It works. there IS evidence, but on a youtube vid they said you need a chain of atleast 40 then break the chain.......
yup.yup.yup...

Thats almost the whole point of the radar. People saying you can't chain shinies don't know what theyre talking about. The amount of shinies chained proves it.

I've gotten two early shiny grimers, no 40 yet though. :c

Lady Luck always finds a way to laugh at you. On my second day of playing Pearl, I hadn't even gotten to the Windworks then, I caught a Shiny Buizel, my first pokemon seen that day (trained & evolved it and it has great stats).

I've chained several hundred times in several places and have only caught 1 Shiny - a pitiful Cascoon. Back in Hoenn, on 1 Sapphire file, I caught 4 Shiny Pokemon the hard way: 2 Oddish, an Electrike (which I evolved and used back then), and a Nincada (which I used a bit for Trophy Garden item farming, then traded while holding a spare Light Ball for a Dialga a while back).

Why on earth would you purposefully break the chain after getting it to 40? All you need to know about chaining is contained within this thread. Read it.

well i've done it once because it was my first atempt at chaining and i didn't actualy care about the chian, just the braggin rights that go along with being able to own a shiny. but it disillusion someone into beleiveing your supposed to do that is just plain cruel.

This isn't exactly a chat room, so there isn't a need to ask if anyone is here. If you have something constructive to post, then please, by all means do so. The best way to get people talking is to post something on-topic that people can reply to.

That being said, I monitor this thread periodically.

That's why it's so important to plan ahead before you chain. Learn as much about your target as you can, and use that to prepare adequately. For example, the easiest way to negate Roar is to go catch a Mr. Mime or Voltorb that has Soundproof on route 218, train it up, and chain with it. I did this back when I was chaining for Vulpixes, and it worked quite well.

great advice... i used a voltorb to get Raikou in leaf green. raikou and entei both had roar in FRLG.
it definitely helped.

Planning really does pay off.
2 examples:

Skarmory@227
I used a feinted impish synchronizing kadabra and Magnet Pulling Probopass.
I switched to my level 90 spore/false swiping breloom.
I got around 9 shiny skarms and about 4 were impish
impish *31* / 8-9 / 4-5 / 26-27 / *31* / 10-11
if only physical and special iv's were switched.

Beldum@228
Same thing. I mean almost same thing. Beldum is a swarm.
I sync'd adamant and my probo has firepunch(GBA tutor), earthpower, and sunny day.
With a choice band firepunch almost always KO's and with Earthpower it does.
if not ko'd then takedown recoil does.
once i got a shiny (BTW super hard to see with)
I use sunny day then i switch to false swiping shedinja. (beldum's takedown= fail. you understand)
i have one shiny adamant beldum. it was my proudest chain yet.

long story longer, plan ahead and you'll get them, eventually.
axio
