Hey, just a quick This or That question.

On NetBattle, I've been using a Raichu with Sweet Kiss, Thunder Wave, Attract, and Surf (surf as opposed to Thunderbolt to counter slower rock and ground types that switch in to try and KO Raichu, and also my Blissey has Thunderbolt). I've been considering replacing Raichu, however, with a Mantine with Confuse Ray, Body Slam, Attract, and Surf, basically keeping all of the annoying aspects of Raichu and adding another attact move, not to mention getting a STAB for Surf.

So basically the point of this thread is, who would make a better stat annoyer between Raichu and Mantine?

For UU metagame, I'd use Mantine; Infact, I DO use Mantine in UU.

Heck! With those moves Mantine is choice. Now if, Thunder Wave was Thunderbolt that would be something different.

It's not for a specific metagame, I try to battle as many different teams as possible. Seems to work for most metagames, except uber.

I'm not really sure if Ghett0 knows what UU is...
When I first saw this thread, I thought it was a fight between them... Raichu FTW!

But seeing how Mantine doesn't have TW, I like the Raichu more... try and force a switch, which means free paralysis.

i'd go with a mantine and mirror coat. counters for raichu are usually rock, etc. making ThunderWave useless.

i'd prefer to use a mantine, get your opponent switch in with an supereffective attack, and with mantine's huge special def, it can mirror coat, killing your opponent.

Yes, but alas a small physical attack like thunder fang and our precious Mantine dies out fast. Still i'd go with mantine because of the STAB bonus for surf. Also...there isn't much point in teaching raichu thunderwave is there? Because of its Static ability? Ah well.

yeah change thunder wave to thunder bolt and i would choose raichu but other wise i would choose mantine

I'll experiment with Bolt instead of Wave.

For the record, though, as it pertains to Mantine's defense. I wouldn't have to worry about Thunder Fang because Net Battle hasn't updated for fourth gen yet.
