I like Groudon better. He looks cooler, and in a 1 on 1 between the two, Groudon pwns Kyogre with either Solarbeam (if Groudon came in second, and Drought is in effect) or Thunder (if Kyogre came in second, and Drizzle is in effect).

i think kyogre is cooler and more powerful.

but with groudons low(ish) special attack (base 100) and kyogres high special defence (140) those moves wont OHKO kyogre. most people power groudon up with physical attacks like earthquake etc. on the other hand, kyogre has huge special attack (150) and groudons special isnt high enough to take hits from hydro pump or surf or water spout (especially in rain). even with the sunlight, ice beam should just about OHKO groudon (but i havent done the calculations).

my vote is for kyogre. it can fully take advantage of its ability (drizzle) because stab boosts water type moves even more. its only weaknesses are electric and grass where are special (im talking 3rd gen here) and it can boost its special defences using calm mind. they are both good, but i think kyogre is way better.....

Kyogre. It starts with a 120-power attack of its type-Hydro Pump-whereas Groudon has Fire Blast and Solarbeam, and can learn Thunder,which aren't of its type. The best Ground move Groudon learns is Fissure, even if it barely hits.

I compared both pokemon. kyogre's stats were better.

Kyogre is cooler. If Groudon were fire type and learned more Fire moves, it would be better- perhaps not still better than Kyogre, but better. They are both pretty good, but it took the master ball to catch Kyogre and a nest ball to catch Groudon. . .

Mmm... not so much, since both have a 2039 maximum stat total.
And Hydro Pump is not a good moce, anything less than 100% accuracy is kinda suspect. Surf is better than Hyrdo Pump.

i agree - surf is better than hydro pump. its so annoying when those moves miss. and without a doubt earthquake is better than fissure - OHKO moves are nothing better than a cheap trick, designed to take skill out of bettling, since they effect everyone equally, and only work because of dumb luck. and yeah, if groudon was a fire type and had the same stats as kyogre (high sp att etc) it would be awesome - drought helping with both fire blast/flamethrower and solar beam....

and yeah, kyogre's stats arent "better" - they are in fact a mirror image of groudons. groudons att = kyogres sp att, etc. same speed and hp. but they do suit it better i think.

OHKO moves would be better if Groudon could learn Lock On or Vital Throw, but it can't. Mind reader, too. Earthquake is indeed better, but Kyogre? Surf is the only HM people would want to use in the first place, I delete all others. I'm not changing my mind, Kyogre is better.

I cought both in Master Balls... by cloning Sudowoodo over and over.

But my Groudon pwned Kyogre.

Kyogre is better... It really can pawn groudon's head easily... Although, I like the looks of Groudon better...

Groudon's cooler but in everything else it sucks compared to kyogue

i gotta go with Groudon for a few reasons

1: Love the look(teeth and claws) and its dashing good red colour( a friend of my considers it a wingless dragon)
2: I played ruby first so i had more time using a groudon in battle
3: i love physical pokemon more then special

Kyogre rulesss! It is a water-type and makes full use of Drizzle Kyo owns (almost) everything; Drizzle, Calm Mind, STABed Hydro Pump/Surf and 100%accurate Thunder, Kyo owns (but I still prefer Milotic )

Groudon rules

I believe Kyogre to be superior in every way to Groudon. The reasons are simple:

1) With Drizzle he gets an even bigger bonus on Water type moves.
2) Being able to learn Thunder and Earthquake he can defeat most types including Steel. (Then again, so can Groudon).
3) His sub-move, Ice Beam, is also Special so he can take advantage of that.
4) Comparing Water Spout with Eruption, sadly Groudon doesn't get STAB on Eruption, but Kyogre does with Water Spout. Plus it's superior to Hydro Pump.

I like groudon more but thats my choice but if i had to choice off raygauza groudon and kyogre i picked raygauza greetz 4live
