basicly, all starters are good if you give them the right moveset. however, with treecko, you'll have trouble against the electric gym in Mauvile. Wattson uses {magnemite} and since you can only find ground/fire types after you beat the gym and get past mauvile, you may have problems with the gym.
But, Don't start over! all you need is to train {shroomish} and have a fighting move on it. it'll take care of {magnemite} es for you.

{treecko} is, i think, the best starter. he learns ground and rock moves that can take down a {blaziken} when its a {sceptile}. If you have {swampert} , {sceptile} will take him down with 1 leaf blade or giga drain.
Even though you may have trouble with {magneton} or {magnemite} in one little part, an evolved {treecko} is best in the long run.

Let me put it in this way
{treecko} is the best starter if you are a beginer player
{mudkip} is the best starter if your an medium player
{torchic} is the best starter if you are an expert player
Since you have repeated it twelve times you should pick mudkip is the best choice, but I choose treecko even though I am an expert in battles I choose treecko because he would tur into a scepetile :D
Take my advice or just pick random

Well it all depends on what you like, and what type wise advantages you want for you team.

Sceptile has many good moves you can use such as Dragon Claw, Leaf Blade, Earthquake and Crunch. And has only the weaknesses that pure Grass types get: Flying, Poison, Bug, Ice and Fire

Blaziken also has many good moves like Sky Uppercut, Earthquake, Rock Slide and Swords Dance. And has an interesting type combo, Fire/Fghting, and with that combo his type-wise disadvantages are: Water, Flying, Ground, Rock and Psychic

Swampert has probably the best type-combo: Water/Ground, very interesting and with his only type weakness being Grass. It's moves include Earthquake, which it learns naturally, Surf, Muddy Water and Ice Beam.

Keep in mind that those moves aren't the only good moves they learn, alot of the moves are excellent, and provide a good sweeper, all pokemon are good in their own way, so no matter which one you choose your choosing a good pokemon ;)

You forgot team frost and the new team, nightmare ;).

They're essentally groups that have activities on the forum for their members and also we use Netbattle to battle each other. But those are only for those teams ithat joined the inter-team, which is just like a peacful topic that the members of the team talk about netbattle which each other.

To find the team topics go to testing and advertising.

Ahem, GO TEAM MIDNIGHT!!!!! {umbreon} {absol} {dusclops} {mewtwo} {sableye} and {houndoom} {shiftry} {sharpedo}, I think you get it...

I'd say {mudkip} is your best starter. {swampert} can't get hit by lightning, so it's very nice. and it's defense and attack aren't bad at all.

I dont think its very good because it is 4x weak against grass attacks. that means if your opponent uses grass types attacks your pretty much doomed.

That is true, but once your swampert is a high level...what grass type pokemon stands a chance? And also, I use two pokemon as my main instead of just one. The other is a swellow, so I don't have much difficulty.

Sceptile, groudon and houndoom can kill a swampert.

Okay, first of all, I know that your saing that because they can all learn Solarbeam, but in the case of Swampert, a siple EQ can OHKO a houndoom and usually a Swampert can OHKO a Groudon if it's quick enough, but yah, Sceptile does pretty much kill it

I think Swampert is pretty useful, because it can take down two gyms in a row: Mauville and Lavaridge. Also, with water gun it pawns Roxanne to give you a head start. Btw, if a grass type comes by, shouldn't you already be carrying a flying type?

The best combo would be to start with a Mudkip, and quickly get a Tailow and level it up. That should give you ownage against 4 gyms in a row, and also against May/Brendan's Grovyle. It helps you out later in the game as well. Its a mean combo in double battles too(earthquake doesn't hit Swellow).

Try to get them around 43 (level) each, Mossdeep can be difficult.

Blaziken is the easiest starter to use. She learns good moves pretty early on and is really helpful is most gyms. Balanced. I havent used treeko before though.

Eh? He's weak against the first (rock), strong against the second (fighting), weak against the third (electric, but can be countered), neutral against the fourth (fire), strong against the fifth (normal), weak against the sixth (flying), weak against the seventh (psychic, but can be countered), and weak against the eighth.

In my opinion, that can make the game a lot harder for inexperienced players. BUT I still choose him anyway ^_^

Use the super rod. There may be type differences that don't match well, but you need them as high as you can get them.
