The location of Suicune is random, but with Latios/-as I got my friend to do a trade/tradeback so I always knew where it was. Then I just stood on the border of Lilycove City and Route One-Hundred-and-Something. When I checked the Dex and found it was on Route One-Hundred-and-Something I just walked around in the grass.
I THINK that moving on foot makes Latios etc. move one route every time you do, but flying makes it move randomly.

Memphus wrote: Save your Masterball for your Legendary Dog. You don't need it for anything else, Mewtwo, Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres all stand still, so you can save right before fighting them, then reset if you mess up, and keep trying with Ultraballs until you get them. That way when you finally do find your dog, and you don't have a sleeper or whatever at the front of your team, you are able to just throw your Masterball and catch it. Trust me, this is by far the best way.
If you don't want to wait for it to randomly appear, here is a way to make it happen a lot sooner: Buy 100 Max Repels, and put a level 49 Pokemon at the front of your team. Find a place with some tall grass and a building you can enter. NOTE: The building must be in the same "area", or "route" as the tall grass, you can't leave to a new area or town to go into the building. Then simply use a max repel, and wander around through the tall grass until your max repel wears off. Then enter the building, and exit back out of it again. Use a max repel again, and repeat. Eventually you will get into a fight with your legendary dog, and just throw your Masterball at it.
there's 1 problem:
is nearly inpossible to catch without the master ball, I tried and gave up after about 50 battles.
you could catch a wobuffet out of cerulean cave and hunt for a dog.

Actually, I agree with Memphus. Mewtwo was easy to catch; I only used one Ultraball on it. I saved my masterball for Entei, so I wouldn't have to worry about catching him. Mewtwo was much easier to catch FRLG.

I agree with him also, it's just the fact that when I tried catching with ultra balls I just kept failing.
next time I'll master ball my dog anyway, since I have enough s in my PC.

My tactic, which I'm in the process of using to catch Latias, is to paralyze Latias/Latios/Suicune/Raikou/Entei at the first sighting, and then False Swipe them at every next encounter. They will escape after every False Swipe, but eventually, they will be at such low HP that you can try an Ultra Ball. My tactic is only for those with the patience of steel. I am not one of those people! So, you'll have to test it out for yourself to see if it works (I'm too busy EV training my Emerald squad!). Good luck, and please post if it works!

Of course, Mean Look/Soundproof/Suction Cups would work well, but no pokemon can have that, short of cheating. My suggestion is Mean Look/Baton Passing with an Umbreon to a Soundproof/Suction Cups pokemon. Here are all the pokemon that can pull this strategy off:
ML/BP:
Spinarak
Ariados
Umbreon
Soundproof/Suction Cups:
Octillery
Lileep
Cradily
Voltorb
Electrode
Mr. Mime
Whismur
Loudred
Exploud
Apparently there is also a trait called Cacophony... does anyone know if this exists? Smogon says it does... if so, whatever pokemon with that trait are also included on the Soundproof/Suction Cups list.

I'm afraid you can't catch Entei now, as it seems if a Dog uses Roar it counts as it was defeated, this has been happening to quite s few Psypokians recently.
^ If you have colloseum, purify and trade the legendary dogs from it to your FR/LG.
Here's what you can also do to catch them; Use a Gengar, use Hypnosis and then switch to a pokemon with Soundproof, and then start chuking Ultra/Net Balls(If Suicune, but may work on the others well sometimes).
It doesn't work very well though, as they'll flee once they wake up. I fpossible you could BP, but that wouldn't make a difference.
L34's strategy is the best though, if I wasn't poor I'd donate him psybucks.

On my Gold version I got roared a lot, and they didn't dissapear. I also got roared by Suicune on FireRed, and I can still track it... weird.
Maybe you just have to bump into it again.

(Gold)
I just kept looking at it's location in the pokedex and flew over there on my bike, but it had already left before I even lef the route I was on
But, I got all three dogs that way
I've found out that the dogs only go on certain routes...

(GOLD)
On my Gold, I use this method (It actually works, I caught Suicune easily)
Use Haunter/Gengar with Hypnosis.
Don't fly to the area they're at, try to predict their next move, that csn usually help you get to the area they're in.
Once you find them, use Hypnosis and hopefully it will hit them (Bad accuracy ).
Keep chucking Ultra/Level Balls(If your pokemon is at LV90 or higher) and you'll catch them eventually.
I've been doing this for quite a while and to be honest it's actually a pretty fun method for catching them, so far I've caught:
Suicune (Ultra Ball)
Entei (Ultra Ball)
Raikou (Ultra Ball)
Now I've finally caught all 3, it's what I've always wanted. *Cries* I'm so happy <I aren't actually crying, it just sarcasm

My method is just to get on with the game and if you run into one of the dogs... YAY. But I keep a pokemon with Sleep Powder or Hypnosis on my team. It helps. A lot.
Im not too bothered with the dogs, I dont think much of them.

i chose charmander so i dun hv the chance to catch raikou and entei.
I just wonder if these various methods (which is mentioned by all of u) really works for catching them (assuming master ball is not used)
Method 1, hypnosis: if u use hypnosis to put them to sleep, yes, they will not flee temporarily, but after a few turns, they will woke up and will flee. So can u really whittle its hp down to low level and then catch it, within a few turns?
Method 2, Mean Look: If u use mean look, of coz they cannot flee. But they will roar u away after u used mean look, then they ar gone forever, due to the well-known glitch in FrLg.
Method 3, Soundproof or Suction cups: If u use Pokemon with these abilities, they cannot use roar, but the same problem appears. they will flee as soon as possible, so, how to catch them? ( i mean without a master ball)

Lethalvirus, please ensure that you click the "Submit" button only once when posting. You have triple-posted on several occasions already, so please take note and check after posting to prevent this from happening again.
Anyway, because of the above limitations stated by Philip, you can only hope to track down the dogs again and again, doing a bit for each battle. Do not save if the Dog uses Roar, of course.
For instance, you encounter Entei. You attack it, it flees. Next, track it down again, and continue to attack, or even use moves like Spore, if possible. Once you have done sufficient damage to it, try catching it for subsequent encounters.

Well you'll probably find it by walking around anywhere. When you eventually find it start training a pokemon to fight raikou. Then use your Pokedex to find it and battle it. That's how I caught my suicune. Good Luck

You have to get all ur party pokemon to hold ultra balls.
Then yes go back in fourth in a cave in Kanto like you said. Then you can get suicun. Do the same for the other two. Oh and by the way thier cats not dogs. And yes you can only get them in Kanto. Or get them in coloseum. Way more easier.

Er, that does absolutely nothing, actually.

Actually, everyone kinda agress that they are dogs. Some may argue that Entei is more like a lion, etcetera, but in general we just call them the Legendary Dogs. Not cats. >.>

No, it doesn't, Ultra Balls have no effects as Hold Items. I think it's just a mere coincidence that you managed to catch Raikou while your Pokemon were holding the Ultra Balls.

Actually back when I owned game shark it told me that if I make my party hold ultra balls I would find the cats easier and faster. Also you may even find a different one not depending on what you choose in the beggining.

I heard my friends saying about getting the legendary dogs but i wonder if this really works..
If u are looking 4 a Suicune, go near water bodies..
If u are looking 4 a Entei, go near Mt.Ember or warm areas..
If u are looking 4 a Raikou, the powerplant is the place where it frequents
Is all these true?
